"Okay, dad. I'll see you later. Yes...yessss, okay bye!" Teyana rushed to hang up on her dad as she finished putting on her socks and sliding into her Yeezy slides.
It's been about a year since she's seen all of her friends. They'd text each other happy birthday and stuff like that, but they haven't had a legit convo since that night at Mekhi's house. It didn't bother Tee, though. Because, she was so focused working on herself that she didn't have time to be bothered by separation.
Since the separation, Teyana moved out of her old apartment. She'd figured that the first step to moving on would be to let go of the apartment so nobody would know her residence, except her family. Tee paid for a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in full cash. She also got a new matte black 2020 range rover, her dream car. She was working as a part time movie script writer, which was a very well paying job.
The only people that she's really been in legit contact with was her dad and her little brother, Tyler, who was now 15. She hadn't seen them in about 3 months now, though. She's been on a work trip, but now she was finally back. Delano had ghosted her after a while, but she didn't mind.
Today was Thanksgiving. Although, she was just ready to enjoy the presence of family, she knew that her friends would be there. It's been an ongoing tradition that everyone close to their family would come eat at her Dad's house. Haven, and everyone else's parents always went so therefore they would be there as well.

Yari was the same age as Tee, 21, and was very laid back and out of drama. She met Yari during her very first movie, and Yari was a actress. She was a petite brown skin girl. She was mixed with Indian and Black. They'd became practically besties and Yari was just what she needed. A friend who was out the way, and calm.
