The following day, Aaliyah and Demetrius found themselves on facetime while packing for their trip Friday that was coming up very shorty. They have been trying their best to spend as much phone time as possible, they even spoke while he is in the studio mixing and mashing songs for different artists. This most certainly hasn't helped Demetrius lose feelings for Aaliyah, his attraction and admiration for her has only gotten stronger in addition to the fact that she still has no clue about how much he cares and wants her in every way imaginable.
Demetrius was currently in the process of venting to her about all the things that he had been feeling when it came to his parents. They were still in the DR enjoying the hot sunny weather, but they barely called or answered their phones when he called.
"Lee since I was 7 I have been fighting for their attention, I thought that maybe getting them to go to DR they would see me in a different light this shit ain't right," he said to her through the phone, you could see the hurt and disappointment in his face and it was evident that this was heavy on his heart for quite some time now too. " D you knew the situation between me and my parent so you know that I know first hand what you're feeling, there isn't a remedy or a cure to these types of child and parent struggles but one thing I do know is you should fully confess and let your true feelings be known to them," she said to him.
"One thing I regret and most likely always will is the fact that I never told my parents fully how I was feeling when it came to how they treated me and I wish I did. You deserve to be heard and considered case you do so much for others constantly. You had so much of your childhood and adolescence taken from you because of their neglect it's time for that shit to come to an end, don't you think bestie ?" She finished off by saying.
"Yo... D why you look so mad when people talk to you, you look like someone took a cookie from you stupid", she said laughing hard

Indeed he did look mad but never at her, he was simply taking in how perfect she looked on camera when she spoke to him. She was such a level-headed person with so much knowledge to share with others. He knew that friendships like this one only came once in a lifetime, so he had to do everything in his power to keep it as stable and healthy as possible, he was just hoping that she would do the same for him.
"You stay bullying me and for what, you small as fuck you have no right be this mean when you the same height as 7th graders fuck outta here". He shot back, her mouth hung open, she had no come back for that so she did what she usually did, fake being mad and seeing what he does in return; " ok then imma talk to you later bye Demetrius".
"Chill...chilllllll I'm playing which I'm sorry" he says.
"It's ok, all is forgiven," Aaliyah said with a huge smile on her face, "So what you finna do with the rest of your day young lady". " Im bout to take my hair out so I can be natural for a few days into the trip then I'm gonna go to the gym for a few hours and finally watch LOVE AND HIP-HOP till my eyes close"
Demetrius had an obsession with Aaliyah's natural hair, there was so much of it plus her coils were simply to die for. He understood as they got older why she wore protective hairstyles, black hair is not a force to be played with and requires all the TLC possible.
"How about you old man, what are you doing this lovely afternoon" her saying that cracked Demetius up cause they did in fact have a five year age gap. "I'm gonna go see Lex, go to the gym and finally go donate clothes to an orphanage, I thought about doing it for a few months but things always came up today is the day I check it off my list.
This melted Aaliyah's heart, Demetrius was such an example for many people, he had such a giving heart even when he didn't have much he found a way to give back to people.
"Metri you too sweet, those kids will be so happy that you showed up and even thought about them, you're an Angel for real"; "Thanks Lee I try to be the best I can, I'm tryna be the person I never had in my life for other ". "Awee I love you Metri" hearing her say that made Demetrius's heart skip a beat even if he knew that she meant it in a friend to friend kind of way that felt good to hear from her.

Once Aaliyah got off the phone with Demetrius she reorganized her pantry for the third time in 2 weeks, she was just finishing up before she heard the door bell ring. In one swift motion, she opened the door to come face to face with the person she was avoiding the most her uncle Richard.
"Well hello Aaliyah it's nice to see you, you look beautiful"
