Wasser5466707 asked : LB, what was the hardest about being the first female field agent, and  only being around boys when you were younger?

LB: Oh there were many different things, as you probably can imagine.
Being the first female agent of course was a struggle, because the men wouldnt believe I could do it as good, if not better, than they could. But I proved myself I guess. No matter how bad their stereotypes about women were. It was just out of fear of feeling inferior at one point, whilst patriachy is much more comfortable for them, than a woman suddenly also doing the "hard work". I didnt let myself care about what they said. Also there were jobs they couldnt have done themself. There are way more men in the criminal scene, and if you want to get indormation. Going undercover and try to seduce them is a good way. And also a very obvious one you could say. So whenever that was necessary I had to do the dirty work. Because at that point I was the only one able to do so.
Anyway, I think its funny to now have the men under my command that once made fun of me.

And growing up with boys.... well as kids there arent so many problems I think. We were mostly "equal" then, at least in eachothers eyes. Kids that learned and played with eachother (if we ever got the chance). The problems actually only start when the difference between both genderd becomes more prominent. As teenagers. Might it by physically, biologically.. but mostly also the different expectations they put on us. I wasnt required to be as good in sports and logic as they were, I was a woman after all and not capable of it right? Women have other specialities they can use better. Total nonsense, I still beat them all in martial arts training.
There certainly were strange moments. Because except for me the guys also mostly only had contacts to males. I was pretty much an alien for them at that point *chuckling slightly*
I also do believe that my behavior was affected as well. I didnt really have a female person to look up to, so I only had male role models and teachers and friends. That sometimes lead to "unlady-like" demeanor I think.
