As time passes, Addison couldn't help herself becoming more attached to this place. The security that the walls provided, and more importantly the people she found herself growing close to. It had been over a day since Addison had fought with Castiel, and ever since she had been avoiding him. Busying herself with all sorts of tasks, even going as far as asking to help Carl look after little Judith for a few hours.
"Oi, Winchester!" A familiar gruff voice called out, catching the girl's attention. Stopping in the middle of the road, the teenager found herself squinting to see through the thick sunshine. Rolling her eyes, she turned back round and continued on her way, choosing to ignore the man who chased after her. "Hey, I'm talkin to ya!"
It wasn't until the hand gripped her shoulder tightly, was she forced to stop. A pensive frown furrowed her brow, narrowing her eyes at the blue eyed red neck. Instincively she brushed his hand from her shoulder, his eyes finding contact with the Teenager's hazel ones.
"What do you want?" Addison spoke up without a moments hesitation, instantly pushing past him, to sit down on the porch sets. In reality the girl was no longer pissed at Daryl for ratting her out the night she tried to run away, but in fear of looking weak, she hide behind a tough façade. Addison lifted her hands to wipe over her face, trying to hide her true feelings. The day was warm and humid, as the summer was slowly beginning to roll in.
"I know ya want to look for ya brothers and Rick don't want ya out by ya self," Daryl spoke up slowly, watching as she looked back at him. His brows furrowed in confusion at the look she held, finally turning away from him. The words he spoke had interested her deeply, confused as to why he would bring it up. "I convinced him to let ya out with me, we go out huntin and look for ya brothers at the same time."
The teenager couldn't help but feel shocked at Daryl's words. It wasn't often that anyone had ever gone out of there way to help her, not even her own father would have. It was kind of Daryl to offer this to her, Daryl was a man who had barely spoken more than a few sentences to her.
"Thank you, Daryl," Addison was thankful without even feeling the emotion, a small smile crossing her lips. Her eyes lifting to meet his, which held a different look in his eyes than she had seen in the past. A small chuckle escaped her lips, Daryl just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.
"Ya ready to go, kid!" Daryl called out, over his shoulder when he noticed that she hadn't followed him. At his words Addison wasted no time in chasing after the man, an exited smile upon her face as the pair reached the armoury. "Grab your bow."
"I appreciate this, thank you Daryl." It surprised not only Daryl that the words had slipped off her tongue, Addison was showing more emotion than she had meant too. But hopefully being outside the wall for a few hours would do her head some good, knock back some sense into her.
"You a just a kid, you shouldn't be out here alone, especially not on ya own," His stoic voice barely dipped as he replied to her. Daryl hardly understood why he was helping the girl, it wasn't like he had anything against her, he just didn't like the idea of her being out here alone. The way in which she described her up bringing, he felt like he could relate. Without his mother in the picture, his dad was abusive, leaving him to lean on his older brother for support. Clearly her brothers meant a lot to her, and he could understand why.
Once outside the wall, the air around them felt chilly. As if the world knew that beyond the safety of the wall, all were in constant danger. Daryl would of though that bringing her outside would frighten the girl into wanting to stay, but it did the opposite. For the first time in a while, Addison felt free. It was like she hadn't a worry in mind, not an ounce of fear when it came to walking corpses.
"We probly won't find anythin out here, if we do we'll catch it, if not, whatever." Daryl's attempt at reassuring her about the hunting side of things, not aware that the girl was absolutely fine.
Instinctively, Addison kept a tight grip on her bow. An arrow already knocked into place, aimed towards the ground beneath her feet as she ventured slightly ahead of the Daryl. The pair walked out of the forest, into a field full of tall grass. The ease of the silence, the subtle breeze brushing through her hair, accompanied by the soft breeze telling her it was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary hanging in the air.
"Keep ya eyes open," Daryl's gruff voice met her ears, prompting the girl to lift her head up from the floor. small hazel eyes were simply looking around, not searching for anything specific. "Had a run in with a group, who followed a man 'Negan'."
The name itself caused Addison to stop rigid, that name she recognised all to well. It was one of her fathers aliases a long time ago, one she thought she'd never hear again since his death nearly 8 years ago. When she shook her head to rid the thoughts from her mind, her gaze caught sight of a deer. Without a word, Addison found herself raising her bow. Straightening her left arm, naturally tightening her grip on the wood Fingers held a feathered arrow in place, lined up and ready to fire. A slow breath slips of out her lungs, calming the nerves of her body.
Hazel eyes tracking the innocent deer, its nose down mindlessly eating it's last meal. Letting out a low whistle, catching its attention. Narrowing her eyes, Addison held her breath as she watched the deer raise it's head. It's dark golden brown eyes staring directly at her, not registering what was about to happen. Without hesitation, the teenager released the string from her hold, the force flinging the sharpened wood through the air. The arrow pierced the young deer's head, its body falling limb to the ground, dust clouds raising from the impact.
"Nice shot kid." Daryl's voice sounded from behind her, catching Addison off guard as she quickly spun around to face the man. She had forgotten that he was there, which meant she had lost focus of her surroundings, something she knew both her father and brothers would be ashamed of.
"What can I say, been hunting my whole damn life!" Addison quickly replied, a proud smile crossing her lips. Her eyes glow at the success of the hunt, proud of what the body could provide. Despite the scorn she had for Daryl, she couldn't hide how happy she was.
"Whatever, we should go back and tell Rick before we run into some bad people." Daryl didn't feel like he needed to carry the body, she seemed to be able to take care of herself. Seeing how she could handle that deer alone, meant there was very little in the world that scared her. Walking back to the wall, the pair made their way through the small gate, sitting down to have a meal before sunset.
