Chapter 14: Unexpected Visit

Korra's phone wouldn't stop ringing making Asami wake up and look around to find that annoying sound.

"Korra." Asami groaned shaking the blue-eyed sleeping girl. "Your phone won't stop ringing."

"Uhm, can you answer it, please?" Korra got closer to Asami and hugged her from her waist from behind. Burying her face behind Asami's neck.

Asami reached over to the night table and grabbed Korra's phone.

"Hello?" She answered in a sleepy tone.

"Hi. Is Korra there?" a girl replied.

"Who is this?"

"It's Eska, her cousin. I really have to talk with Korra." She replied in a worried tone.

"Korra, it's your cousin. She sounds worried." Asami turned over and Korra grabbed the phone. Asami lying her head on Korra's chest while Korra put her arm around Asami's shoulder.

"Eska, what's wrong?" Korra asked with her eyes still closed.

"Unalaq just went out saying he and some others are stopping by your apartment today. You have to get her out of there."

That made Korra shoot her eyes open and instantly be awake. Her heart was racing and Asami could feel a shift in Korra's behavior and looking up at her it was confirmed.

"Korra, what's wrong?" Asami asked.

"Thanks, Eska. How long?" Korra said as her hold on Asami got tighter.

"He went out 5 minutes ago." Eska replied. "My father nor Desna know I gave you a heads up."

"I appreciate it. I owe you one."

"Later. Just get her out of there."

Eska hung up and Korra looked at Asami with a scared expression. It was the first time Asami saw that expression on her face.

"I have to get you out of here, Sami." Korra whispered putting their foreheads together.

"What's wrong?" Asami cupped Korra's face.

"Unalaq is coming over with some others and you can't be here when that happens. I told you Sami, I will always protect you."

"I know but...who will protect you? I can't leave you alone in here." Asami dug her face in Korra's neck. "Just tell me so I can know what to do to help."

"I'll be fine, I promise." Korra started to trace patterns on her back. "And I promise one day I will tell you but for now, let me protect you."

Asami wanted Korra to tell her now because Asami was getting tired of knowing Korra was hurting but she couldn't do anything about it. She decided not to keep pushing seeing that Korra was already worried and scared as it is.

"Okay. Let's get up then."

The girls got up and quickly got changed as Korra didn't have any idea on when Unalaq could be over. Korra was sad that her time with Asami because she had made plans for today and wanted to give Asami a surprise date. It would have to be another day. Korra made sure to accompany Asami all the way to her car to really make sure Asami got there safe and didn't bump into anyone. Korra got in the car with her just to say goodbye.

"Text me when you get home, so I know you got there okay." Korra put a hand on Asami's cheek.

Asami put her hand over Korra's and leaned more into her touch.

"I will and you text me when Unalaq leaves."

Korra came closer to Asami's face.

"I promise I will talk about it one day." Korra whispered.
