Chapter 15: An Explanation

The sun's beams of warmth were hitting Asami on the face which caused her to start to wake up. She got very little to no sleep at all last night as she made sure to check up on Korra every 5-15 minutes to make sure she was okay. Korra would get up occasionally to vomit in the bathroom and Kuvira was there to help Asami keep an eye on her. They managed to bring down her temperature and chills, still Asami's head was filled with worry and couldn't, for the life of her, get to sleep.

A thousand thoughts racing in her mind a 1000mph keeping her up. What happened to Korra? Why did Korra call Kuvira first instead of her? What is Korra hiding? Is Korra the person she thought she was? Could their relationship continue? Asami put those thoughts aside as her main priority now is Korra's well-being.

She had her arm on top of Korra's waist to make sure she could feel if Korra moved even if she was asleep. Asami grabbed her phone which showed to be 8:00AM.

Good thing it is a Sunday and not a school day. Asami placed a gentle kiss on Korra's forehead and got up to brush her teeth. She left Korra's room and the sound of a door opening made her look in Kuvira's direction.

"Did you get any sleep Asami? You look awful." Kuvira asked in a joking matter as she closed the door to the guest bedroom.

"Thank you for the compliment" Asami answered with sarcasm. "I barely got any sleep, how about you?" She didn't need an answer from Kuvira as the dark bags under her eyes answered for her.

"Same. I'll go get coffee started for us." Kuvira dragging her feet to the kitchen and letting out a yawn.

"And I'll get breakfast ready and call Eska to get Naga here."

Eska answered as soon as she saw Asami's call and promised to get Naga back to Korra's apartment as soon as she could. That was one less thing to worry about which relieved Asami. She and Kuvira were enjoying breakfast when they heard hurried footsteps. Asami got up from her seat and ran to Korra's bedroom where she found Korra in the bathroom vomiting again. Asami got to her side quickly while putting her hair up to make sure it didn't get messy.

"This can't be normal, Kuvira. She vomited all night and she stopped for a while, but it has come back." Asami said worried for Korra's health.

"I'll be okay, Sami" Korra barely managed to say. "My-my system is-is just getting everything out."

"Kor, this is not okay. Please let me take you to a hospital." Asami pleaded.

"We ca-ca-can't." Korra vomited again. "I just need to rest and get hydrated."

"I'll run to the pharmacy". Kuvira said.

"If you don't get better by tonight, we are dragging your ass to a hospital." Asami said in a firm tone.

"You're hot when you're mad." Korra managed to give her a weak smile.

"Korra!" Asami blushed.

After being in the bathroom for 20 minutes, Asami got Korra to stand up and brushed her teeth. She knew how Korra is with her hygiene. Asami laid her on the bed.

"Stay with me, Asami?" Korra asked as she pulled the blanket to her chin. "Please" she pleaded with her baby browns. "Stay with me until I fall asleep again".

"I'll stay" she responded as she got comfortable next to Korra. Asami couldn't say no to those baby browns.

She placed her head on Korra's chest and laid her arm around her waist while Korra hugged Asami from the waist having pulled the blanket over the two. Yeah, this was definitely her favorite place to be in. Korra asked Alexa echo dot to play "Roslyn" from St. Vincent & Bon Iver. The melody making Asami's eyes start to feel heavy.
