Short chapter coming in 1..2..3!

Gabriella 'Raven' Ramirez

I am not sure how long I sat on the floor of my bathroom with my back against the tub. In my hand was a positive clear blue pregnancy test. I was not surprised in the least.

I knew the consequences of my actions, our actions. Unprotected sex equals one of two things, a baby or an STI. A baby is the lesser of the two evils within my life right now.

I had always secretly desired being a mother. I wanted to share my love unconditionally without restraint. A little me was soon to enter this world. Oh, and Oscar too.

A little us was going to give this world even more hell. We aren't bad people though. We just come from rough upbringings that shaped us into the people we are today.

The bathroom door slowly opened and there he stood. Oscar stood in all his glory, a white beater and some cargoes with a pair of Chuck Taylor's on his feet. His plaid shirt had long since been discarded on the couch.

He took on look at me before his eyes drifted to the test in my hands. He didn't say anything. He didn't have to.

He met me where I was. He just quietly walked over and took a seat beside me. His bad sat against the side of the tub as he gazed down at the test in my still slightly shaking hands.

"Here I was thinking about adopting Cesar and life gave me a baby. God gave me a baby of my own", I softly speak.

"Nah, that one move you do when you riding my dick and clamp down like a clam got you a baby", was Oscar's brilliant response.

Slowly, my eyes drifted to him. The look on my face could only be described as 'Nigga, really?'. He laughed in true Oscar fashion, not being able to take me seriously right now.

"Lighten up, Riel. It's a joke."

I roll my eyes but say nothing as I hand the test to him. As soon as it touches his hand he drops it like he had touched fire.

"Was there piss still on that thing?", he asked looking disgusted.

Despite myself, I find myself laughing. I was letting out a fully belly laugh. When I finally calmed down, I rested my head against his arm.

"Thank you", I whispered breathlessly.

"That's what I'm here for. You aren't alone anymore. You have the dweebs, Cesar , Jasmine, Sad Eyes, and most of all, you got me. We are our own fucked your little family but we are family. I'll always have your back", Oscar said pulling me into a side hug, his head resting on top of mine.

"Yeah, family", I whispered.

I nervously wrung my hands while playing with my rings, spinning them around my fingers. I was anxious. Cesar was on his way home from school. Oscar went to pick him up giving me time to center myself fully again.

I glanced at the Manila folder on the table once again with a soft smile. There were official adoption papers inside. I know I am young, but Cesar deserves stability.

He deserves a chance at a normal life. A safe life where he could walk down the street without fear. I was not taking him from Oscar. I could never do such a thing.
