Chapter 17

The next morning Silver woke up to a fragrant smell of fried rice and freshly brewed coffee, he shot up and freshen up. As he slowly descended he saw Sidney pouring black coffee to a coffee mug.


“Good Morning Kuya! Agahan na tayo!” Bati ni Sidney, agad na bumaba na si Silver at naupo na sa upuan para mag-agahan kasama ang nakababata niyang kapatid.

“Wow, thanks bro. Dami nito!” Sikmat niya habang nakatitig sa mga pagkain na nakahanda para sa kanila.

“Yung iba dalhin natin sa Hospital kuya, peace offering ko sana kela Sia at mama” Saad ni Sidney at pinatong ang mug sa tapat ni Silver. Kinuha naman ito ni Silver at tinapat sa kaniyang bibig at hinipan ito. Matapos ang ilang minuto ay humigop si Silver ng kape at parang nabuhayan siya ng dugo sa sobrang sarap ng timpla ng kape.

“Sarap! Kain na tayo baka pagod na sila Sia.” Saad ni Silver kaya nagmadali na silang kumain.

“Actually Kuya chef ako sa Maryland eh kaya marunong ako magluto at mag-brew. Ikaw attorney ka diba?” Saad ni Sidney.

“Yes I am, not the one I want to be but sure.” Silver answered and continue eating afterwards, Sidney saw how Silver’s face slowly saddened.

“May Girlfriend ka kuya? Anak? Or married?” Tanong ni Sidney para ma-change topic sila dahil nalungkot ang kuya niya.

“Well my girl has kids but I’m not the father and that’s okay with me, how bout’ you? Any partner?” He asked back.

“A-actually kuya a-ano eh, may anak ako.” Sagot ni Sidney nanlamig ang kamay ni Sidney at dahan-dahan na namuo ang pawis sa kaniyang nuo.

“Really? Then may pamangkin na pala ako dito? Bakit pala di mo kasama?” Tanong ni Silver.

“Kasama siya ng mama niya, bata pa kasi ako non eh di ko alam ang gagawin kaya bigla na lang ako pumunta sa America.” Kwento ni Sidney.

“Alam ni mama?” Tanong ni Silver at agad naman umiling si Sidney.

“Tell her I’m sure she’ll be happy to know na may apo na pala siya. Don’t be scared and say sorry to her please? It’s not her fault.” He stated and Sidney nodded.

They both got ready and he can tell that Sidney’s nervous, he spilled a few times so he helped his brother out to ready the food.

“Relax bro, it’ll be fine.” He said and tapped his brother’s shoulder to loosen him up a bit.

“Nice car Kuya! I wanted to buy one but the loan won’t allow me eh.” Sidney spoke then looked around Silver’s car interior.

“I’ll buy you one. What color do you want? Dito ba or in Maryland then I’ll go there personally to buy it for you.” Silver said and he saw how Sidney’s face slowly lit up.

“Really kuya?! Nakakahiya naman! Wag na kuya. Sobra na yun.”

“Marami na akong pagkukulang bilang Kuya, hayaan mo na i-spoil ko kayo kahit maghirap ako basta masaya kayo.” Saad ni Silver.

“Okay, thank you Kuya ah. Takte naiiyak nanaman ako eh! Kuya naman eh!” Ani Sidney sabay punas sa luha niya mula sa gilid ng mata.

Di rin nagtagal nakarating na din sila, sobrang sarap pala sa pakiramdam na may kuya yun ang mga salitang paulit-ulit na sinasabi ng utak ni Sidney.

Pero ang pansin ni Sidney sa kuya niya ay hindi ito pala ngiti at parang kahit sobrang pure ng sinasabi nito eh di pa din ito nakangiti.

“Ma! Dito na kami!” Bati ni Silver.

“Ma.” Saad ni Sidney. Suddenly the mood died down aa Sidney entered their mother’s room.

“Nak sorry.” Their mother started crying her heart out then Sidney hugged his mom.

“Sorry din ma.” Sidney uttered as they both bawl their hearts out, Silver and the other kids can’t help but cry as they stare at Sidney and their mom saying sorry and crying together.

“Kuya naman eh! Sorry Kuya!” Sia said and came closer to Sidney and hugged his back, Sidney turned his face to Sia and hugged her properly.

“Sorry ah babawi si Kuya, sorry baby girl.” Sidney spoke and with that Sia’s tears fell and hugged her brother, after almost a decade she heard Sidney call her ‘Baby Girl’ again Sidney’s endearment for her.

“Sorry din Kuya ko.” Sicel spoke and hugged Sia and Sidney, their mother hugged them but then Sidney widened his arms to welcome Silver, Silver stood up amd hugged them all. It was one of his happiest days in his life, finally feeling the proper love from his family.

“Tahan na mga anak ko, sobrang masaya si mama ngayon kahit sumama na ako kay papa ok na ako.”

“Ma!” Saway ng tatlo kaya natigilan si Selene pero niyakap naman siya ulit ng mga anak niya. Matapos ang iyakan hinanda na ni Silver at Sidney ang agahan nila Sia at ng kanilang ina.

“Wow Kuya! Ang dami! Baka tumaba na ako nito! Pero thanks Kuyas!” Saad ni Sia at nagsimula na kumain pati na rin si Selene at Sicel.

“Oh and so you know Kuya Silver is buying me a car!” Sidney announced and danced happily whilst wiggling his bottom.

“Hala! Ako den! Kuyaaa! Gusto ko ng Laptop! Atsaka Gaming chair! Tapos maraming imported make-up kuya!” Saad ni Sia na hawak-hawak ang tinidor na may nakatusok na longganisa.

“Sure Kuya will buy it for you, but no boyfriend muna until you finish med. Promise me Siandra, or else kuya will kill him.” Silver spoke darkly to Sia.

“Agree.” Saad ni Sidney sabay pinatunog ang mga buto nito sa daliri na para bang handa ng lumaban.

“Agreetoo.” Sicel butted in.

“Bakit ba kasi tatlo nag kuya ko eh! Parang bawal ako Mag-boyfriend eh may bachelor’s degree naman na ako eh. Sige na mga kuyaaaa.” Makaawa ni Sia sa mga kuya niya pero umiling lang ang mga ito.

“If you meet someone exactly like me, then I’ll think about it.” Silver spoke.

“Edi Kailangan Gwapo? Attorney? Mayaman? Amerikano? Eh Kuya Silver san naman ako makakahanap ng kagaya mo?” Reklamo ni Sia sabay umiling lang si Silver.

“Kuya bili mo din ako ng car ah! Si Kuya Sidney bibili mo! Gusto ko Fortuner tapos black and white!” Sigaw naman ni Sicel.

“Copy, get your license first.”

“Mga anak ginawa niyo namang Santa Claus ang Kuya Silver eh. Anak, wag ah magiging sutil yang mga kapatid mo, sige ka pag namatay ako maghirap ka.” Banta ni Selene kay Silver.

“Ayos lang ma kahit maghirap ako, basta masaya ang mga kapatid ko at siyempre ikaw ma.” Sagot ni Silver sa kaniyang ina.

“Yey! Phone pa pala Kuya! Iphone 13! Sira na kasi yung phone ko oh, tingnan mo basag na screen oh. I’m so kawawa.” Saad ni Sia and over reacted as if she’s homeless and penniless

“Yes little Sister basta walang munang boyfriend tsaka na pag 30 ka na.” Ani Silver sabay halukipkip.

“Ha?! Eh di na ako magkaka-anak non! Kuya naman eh!”

“Speaking of anak, I have one before I left to U.S.” Sidney spoke shyly.

“Ha!? Paano? Bakit?” Tanong ni Sia na nakatayo pa at hawak-hawak pa din ang tinidor with longganisa.

“With my Girlfriend Jade. On our anniversary, his name is Jael Simon Ramirez. I was scared back then so I couldn’t give him my surname, I was scared to fail all of you because papa died recently so I kept it a secret then left to U. S.”

“May apo na pala ako eh! Bakit di mo siya dalin dito nak? Para naman makilala ko siya.” Saad ni Selene.

“I don’t know how to approach her ma, all I know is that they moved after Jael’s third birthday.” Sidney spoke and the room was filled with a somewhat  sappy and sour mood.

“Pag nakalabas na si Mama sasamahan kita puntahan ang anak mo.” Sagot ni Silver.

“Thanks Kuya.” Sidney uttered.

“Kuyas you should get along more, work hard because I your princess wants a lot of things! So you better ass off! Okie?” The sassy princess asked with a thumbs up.

“Sure, just finish your studies, Princess.” Silver spoke.

“Yeah! Kuya Silver D’ best!” Sia cheered and danced happily.

“Finish your food princess para makapag-pahinga na kayo ni Kuya Sicel mo.” Abiso ni Sidney na nililigpit ang pinagkainan ng kanilang ina.

“Sarap naman sa mata na ganiyan kayo mga anak ko, pwede na talaga ako sumama sa papa.”  Ani Selene.

“Ma!” Saway nanaman na naman ng mga anak niya.

“Mga anak naman, matanda na din ang mama niyo at matagal na ako nakikipaglaban sa sakit na ito eh, gusto ko na din sana magpahinga.” Malungkot na saad ng kanilang ina sabay bumuntong hininga.

Natigilan ang magkakapatid dahil sa sinabi ng kanilang ina, pero si Silver agad na lumapit sa kaniyang ina.

“Labas tayo ma? Para naman makalanghap ka ng sariwang hangin, wag muna kayo umuwi Sicel and Sia let’s walk with mama.” Silver ordered.

“Di na nak, pauwiin mo na sila Sia pagod na sila.” Saad ni Selene sabay humiga at tumalikod sa mga anak nito.

People said you wouldn’t know the exact time and exact day when death would knock at your door to take you but Selene does and it’s like she talked with the grim reaper a dozen times not to take her.

“Sige! Lumabas na tayo mga anak!” Selene changed her mind last minute just before Sicel and Sia exited the door.

“Sige ma kukuha ako ng wheelchair!” Saad ni Sidney at agad na lumbas mula sa silid ng patakbo.

“Yeah! Going out as a fam! Wait Kuya Silver peram ako ng phone mo!” Sikmat ni Sia at nilabas naman ni Silver ang telepono niya mula sa bulsa at wala pa sa kalahati ng screen ang nakalabas ay hawak na ito ng bunsong kapatid niya.

“Pic tayo ah! Iingatan ko kuya promise!” Ani Sia at tinapat naman sa mukha ni Silver ang telepono nito para bumukas dahil facial recognition ito.

Tumayo si Silver para buhatin ang kaniyang ina at iupo ito sa wheelchair dahan-dahan dahil baka maulit nanaman ang nangyari nung lumabas silang dalawa.

“Let’s go!” Siandra exclaimed and stuck out her arm.

Selene couldn’t explain what she’s feeling she really is happy to walk with her sons and daughter who are now reconciled, but she’s also sad knowing that this would be the last time she would feel this and maybe this would be the last time they would get along.

“Dito tayo ma may lilim at masarap ang simoy ng hangin.” Saad ni Sidney at ni-lock ang safety feature ng wheelchair para di ito umandar.

“Picture tayo! Kuya Silver ikaw na humawak alam mo namang kinulang ako sa tangkad eh.” Ani Sia kaya kinuha ni Silver ang telepono.

“1! 2! 3! Smileeee!”

They all flashed their genuine smile and Silver clicked the capture button capturing their moments together.

“Kuyaaaaaa! Nakanganga naman ako eh!” Sikmat ni Sia sabay hampas sa braso ni Silver at si Silver naman panay pa ang zoom in sa picture na nakanganga si Siandra.

“Sa Birthday mo intayin mo na lang ha love you princess!” Silver mocked her and puckered his lips towards Sia.

“Kuyaaaaaa! Bad ka talaga hmp!” Saad ni Sia na matangos ang nguso at sabay humalukipkip.

“Kawawa naman ang prinsesa namin binubully ng mga kuya.”Komento ng kanilang ina.

“Mama oh! Sila Kuya apakabad!” Ani Sia na nagsusumbong sa kanilang ina.

“Lambing lang yan ng mga kuya nak yaan mo na bahala ka baka di matuloy yung laptop mo sa Kuya Silver.”

“I hope they’re like this together.” Selene thought as she stared at her children.

“Mama balita ko gusto mo daw mag beach? Sabi ni Kuya?” Tanong ni Sidney sa kanilang ina.

“Oo nak eh kaso konting kibot parang gusto ko ng mamatay sa sakit eh, siguro pag gumaling ako. Pag gumaling ako.” Their mother emphasized the last sentence because she knew it too well that her dream of hers wouldn’t happen.

“Gagaling ka ma, ano ka ba pinagtutulungan na nga namin ni Kuya yung bills eh palakas ka lang ma yun na lang sukli mo sa amin ha?” Saad ni Sidney.

“Don’t worry about the bills ma ok? Pag gumaling ka mag-beach tayo tapos akyat tayong Baguio? Or Let’s go to New Zealand ma! Name it we can go there I bought a private plane and a yacht with pool deck.” Silver explained as he crossed his arms.

“Wow! Kuya punta tayo dun ah! Magsusuot ako ng swimsuit! Yung two piece!”

“No!”  The brothers shouted in unison.

“Aish! Ano susuotin ko? Eh beach yon? Ano long gown ha? Mga kuya??” Sia asked in disbelief.

“Rash Guard princess covered ang dapat takpan ok?” Silver stated.

“Kuyaaaasss di na ako under age! Matanda na ako! Oh! Dapat nga may boyfriend na ako eh!” Sikmat ni Sia sabay padyak ng kaniyang mga paa.

Then Silver stared at Sia from head to toe.

“Still a baby to me.” Silver stated

“Yeah little baby to me awww so cuteee.” Sidney commented and pinched Sia’s cheeks.

“Agree.” Sicel added.

“Kuyas! Woman na ako! Woman! Di na ako baby!” Sia demanded and stomped her feet but her older brothers won’t budge and still see her as a little baby.

“Kuya Sicel will buy you rash guards in different colors pa, ok?” Sicel butted in and the other siblings agreed.

“Pasok na tayo mga anak, parang kailangan ko gumamit ng banyo eh.” Saad ng Kanilang ina kaya agad naman silang lumakad pabalik at bago pa man maka-alis si Sia at Sicel ay inasikaso muna nila ang kanilang ina.

“Bye Kuyas! Ma! Love you ma! Love you Kuyas!” Sia Chirped before exiting the room.

“Love you Kuyas! Love you ma!” Sicel stated before leaving the room, and of course the kuyas answer and so is their mother. 

“Ma punasan kita, mainit ngayon eh.” Saad ni Sidney nakalalabas lang mula sa banyo na may hawak na palanggana na may maligagam na tubig at maliit na pamunas.

“Siyempre nak, basta ikaw.”  Sagot ni Selene agad naman naupo si Sidney sa stool at piniga ang pamunas at agad na piniga ang pamunas at sinimulan punasan ang mga braso ng kaniyang ina.

“Nak hanapin mo yung anak mo ah, wag ka gumaya sa daddy Sixto mo. Be like Kuya Silver ha alam ko na nagkulang ako at sana wag mo ko gayahin nak.” Kwento ng kaniyang ina.

“Yes ma, sorry ma kung tinago ko ah di ko kasi alam gagawin eh kakamatay lang ni Papa eh.” Sagot ni Sidney.

“Want to find him? I know someone who can.” Silver spoke as he lift his head to look at the two.

“Really Kuya? My son’s name is Jael Simon Ramirez, thanks kuya!”

Silver stood up and called Jinoh to help his little brother.

“Hey bud! What’s up? Kamusta si mama mo? And the little brothers? And sister?” Jinoh asked from the other line.

“Crazy pilot told you? We’re finally good bro after a few days of arguing and excessive crying it’s good bro.” He assured Jinoh.

“Need something? Yes crazy pilot dad told me.”

“I need you to find someone eh, his name is Jael Simon Ramirez he’s my nephew.” Silver stated.

“Nephew?! Really?! Wait! Wag mo muna ibaba! I’ll look it up! Wait lang ah!” Jinoh spoke hurriedly.

After a few minutes of waiting Jinoh finally spoke again after an excessive amount of typing and clicking.

“Wait! She’s currently living in one of Zion’s condos the one where Leigh lived before bro!” Jinoh spoke excitedly.

“Thank you brother! I’ll wire it I know what you need.” He answered Jinoh.

“Thank you! See you soon buddy!” They bid goodbyes and he immediately went back but just before he could hold the door knob he met his mother’s  doctor.

“You’re the son right? Can we talk about your mother?” The Doctor said and he nodded, the doctor led him to his office.

“Magiging pranka na ako ah, your mom is dying.” The doctor abruptly said without any warning.

“Huh?! Doc bakit? Ano nangyari? Di naman kami nagkukulang sa bayad ah?!” Silver said because he was shocked to know, his mom is strong and he can see it but why is she dying?

“Her body is not responding to any medicines that we’re giving her, in short we can’t proceed with the operation, I’m telling you this so you’ll be aware hijo.”

Parang nawala sa sarili si Silver na lumabas sa opisina ng doctor, di niya alam kung anong gagawin niya at parang ayaw tanggapin ng sistema niya yung nalaman niya, tumungo siya sa pampublikong palikuran para maghilamos.

The water refreshed him but at the same time, it made him realize that it really is true, he’s not dreaming his mom is really dying.

He wanted to take time to process things but he couldn’t because he knows his mom would worry about him, so he brought himself back to his mother’s room.

“Found your kid, in one of my friend’s condo.” He spoke nonchalantly as he plopped himself down the couch.

“Thanks Kuya! The best ka talaga!” Sikmat ni Sidney.

“Nak nagugutom na ako pwede bili  ka muna ng pagkain natin?” Saad ng Kanilang ina at kapagkuwan ay hinimas ang braso ni Sidney.

“Sure mama ko, ano ba gusto mo? Sisig. Morcon anything tell me ma.” Sidney stated before placing the small pail back to the bathroom.

“Gusto ko luto ng ninang Remy nak eh, yun na lang thanks nak.” Bulong ni Selene sa anak niya sabay halik sa pisngi ng anak nito.

“Love you mama ko.”  Sidney answered and bid goodbye to his older brother.

Silver was busy with his phone and Selene couldn’t help but stare at Silver, she wants to tell Silver everything because she doesn’t want to regret anything so she’s planning to tell Silver everything.

“Nak?” Tawag ni Selene sa kaniyang anak at agad naman inangat ni Silver ang ulo  niya.

“Yes ma?” Ani Silver sabay ngiti sa kaniyang ina.

“May sasabihin sana si mama eh. Wag ka sanang magalit nak.” Dahan-dahan na saad ni Selene.

“Huh? Bakit naman ako magagalit sa iyo ma? Eh buong buhay ko sabik na sabik ako sa iyo eh. Ano ba yon mama ko hm?” Silver stated lovingly and pulled the small stool to sit beside his mom.

“Gusto ko sabihin lahat ng ito nak bago pa man ako mawala sa mundong ibabaw hindi kakayanin ng konsensya ko na di ko ipaliwanag sa iyo ang lahat.” Saad ng kaniyang ina, nararamdaman ni Silver na kinakabahan ang kaniyang ina at parang kaunti na lang at babagsak na ang mga luha nito.

“Sa halos dalawang dekada na wala ako sa tabi mo nak, unang una gusto ko humingi ng tawad sa iyo nak alam kong sobrang nahirapan ka sa daddy mo, sorry nak.” Turan ni Selene at kapagkuwan ay hinaplos ang pisngi ni Silver, di na mapigilan ng ginang na umiyak kaya hinayaan niya ng tumulo ang mga luha niya.

“Ma, ok lang. Ang importante na alalayan mo sila Sia mas kailangan ka nila.” Saad ni Silver habang hawak niya ang kamay ng kaniyang ina na nakahawak sa pisngi niya.

“Maaring sinabi ng daddy na nagloko ako pero ang totoo na una siya, di ko ginusto na magloko nak napilitan lang ako. Nauna ang daddy mo nung naging general siya, siyempre mataas na siya kaya kahit sino at anong gusto niya makukuha niya.” His mother was trying so hard to explain everything to him and he can feel that as time goes by her grip hardened as if she’s taking her strength from him.

“Ako na lang ang umalis kesa saktan ako ng daddy mo, kaso pag-alis ko buntis pala ulit ako and that’s Sidney. Then I met Keanu he accepted me even though I was 4 months pregnant, before I could gave birth we got married.”


“He accepted me and for the first time in my life I felt loved, but then again I felt bad that I was happy but I left you. Mayaman ang pamilya ni Keanu pero di ko hiningi ang pang-sustento ko sa iyo sa kaniya, pagkatapos ko manganak iniwan ko si Sidney sa kaniya at pumunta ako sa ibang bansa para makuha kita gamit yung pera.” Kwento ng kaniyang ina habang pinupunasan ang mga luha nito at pilit na pinipigilan umiyak sa harap ni Silver.

“Kaso pag-uwi ko pa-college ka na at sabi ng daddy mo sana makapagbigay man lang ako ng pampa-aral mo, nilapitan ko yung amo ko, si Keanu, at mga kaibigan namin ni Sixto. Isa lang sa kanila ang sumagot si Ninong Rod, kaso ang gusto niya ang katawan ko. Wala na akong magawa kundi pumikit kapalit ng tatlong Milyon para sa pag-aaral at sa kumpanya mo.”

“Ma?! Bakit mo ginawa yon?!” Silver’s tears fell, rage and sadness filled him.

“Wala nak eh, nakonsensya ako na wala man lang ako na-ambag sa pagpapalaki sa iyo. Sinabi niya sa mga kaibigan namin na nauna ako magloko pero siya talaga ang nauna. Sinasabi ko to sa iyo kasi ayoko iwanan ka na nagugulahan nak. Araw-araw kitang hinintay sa bahay natin dati kaso nilipat ka pala ng bahay ng daddy mo kaya di na kita mahanap. Di ko naman siya magawang mademanda dahil mayaman siya ako hindi. ” Turan ni Selene at pinunasan ang luha ni Silver.

Nakahiga si Selene kaya tanging mukha lang ni Silver na umiiyak din katulad niya. Sobrang gumaan na ang pakiramdam ni Selene ngayon na nasabi niya na lahat kay Silver.

“Nak sorry ah, mahal na mahal ka ni mama.”

“Mahal na mahal din kita ma, sorry din.” Tugon ni Silver sa kaniyang ina.

With that Selene smiled weakly and slowly closed her eyes, Silver’s crying stopped as he saw her mom slowly and weakly closed her eyes.

“Ma! Mama ko! Ma! Mama wag mo muna akong iwan! Ma!” Silver screamed on top of his lungs and gently shook  his mother but when he saw there was no response instead a lone tear fell from her eyes. He immediately pressed the button to call the nurses and doctors.

Napilitan si Silver na tumabi dahil kasalukuyang nirerevive ang kanilang ina di niya na napansin na nandon lang pala si Sidney at nabitawan na nito ang dalang pagkain. Sidney ran towards the room but he was immediately stopped by one of the nurses.

Silver picked himself up and called Sicel and Sia and told them the news, after a few minutes he saw his little siblings crying and shattered. He came closer to them and comforted them.

“Kuya bakit?! Ano nangyari?! Okay pa naman siya kanina eh.” His little sister cried her heart out after they saw how the doctors tried to revive their mother but after thirty minutes the doctors and nurses gave up.

“Time of Death:10:30 am.” The doctor announced and all the medical professionals left them. His siblings surrounded their mother crying and bawling their hearts out as they hugged their mom as a last good bye to her.

Bilang si Silver ang panganay pinilit niya na maging maayos at inasikaso niya ang bills ng kaniyang ina at pati na rin ang libingan nito at pagbuburulan. Matapos niya maayos ang ito bumalik siya sa mga kapatid niya at niyakap ang mga ito.

“Tahan na, isipin na lang natin di na nahihirapan si mama ngayon, okay?” He assured them even though he’s beyond shattered and crushed to what he heard.

Sobra sobrang galit ang nararamdaman niya kaya habang naghihintay ang mga kapatid niya na ma-embalsamo ang kanilang ina ay umalis siya ng hindi nagpapa-alam. Umiiyak siya habang nagmamaneho para lang mailabas ang mga saloobin niya dahil sa pakiramdam niya sasabog na siya sa sobrang galit at lungkot.

Sidney searched the hospital but he couldn’t find his older brother, he’s getting worried about him. He tried to call him a hundred times but he hasn’t answered any single of it.

“Sia, si Kuya Silver?” Tanong ni Sidney pero umiling lang si Sia kaya lalo na siyang nag-alala, di niya naman alam ang numero ng telepono ng mga kaibigan nito kaya di niya alam kung ligtas ba ito o kung nasaan man ito.


Silver drove to EV as fast as lightning he didn’t care about the speeding ticket all he wants is to come home. When he arrived Kaiser was there by the gate but he didn’t spoke to him instead he walked straight towards his house and closed everything.

“That’s strange, namumugto ang mata niya? You? What do you think?” He asked because all along Kiel was there by the terrace and he’s sure he just saw what happened.

Napakibit-balikat lang si Kiel kay Kaiser but to Kaiser something feels off, Silver doesn’t cry but his eyes were red and a few tears was falling of his cheek. Kaiser was concerned about Silver.

Pumasok si Kaiser sa bahay ni Silver at agad siyang umakyat tungo sa ikalawang palapag dahil wala ito sa sala, kumatok siya ng ilang beses pero di ito nagbukas paghawak niya naman sa door knob ay naka-lock na ito.

“Hey Buddy? Talk to us if may problema o kaya naman kung kailangan mo ng kausap nandito ako. Buksan mo na tong pinto.” Aniya habang pilit na binubuksan ang pinto.

Silver wouldn’t budge he’s shattered he wants to be alone so he can pour all of his feelings out.

“Nandito kami Silver.”

“Tanginamo!” Sigaw ni Kaiser dahil nagulat siya at biglang may nagsalita sa likuran niya at si Kiel iyon.

“Gago bawasan mo na kape mo.” Sagot ni Kiel sabay hinampas ang batok ni Kaiser at agad naman tinaas ni Kaiser ang pang-gitnang daliri nito kay Kiel.

“Ok lang ako, sige na umuwi na kayo.” Maikling Sagot ni Silver kaya walang nagawa si Kaiser at Kiel kundi umuwi na sa sariling mga bahay nito.

But little did Silver know Kiel knows his Kryptonite, his babe. Kiel didn’t tell what was happening to Silver all he did was Tell Ligaya that Silver was already home, for the past few days Ligaya would always ask her lady boss whether Silver has come home yet and now was the perfect time that Silver isn’t telling them what was happening.

Si Kaiser naman pumunta siya kay Koreanong Hacker dahil parang hindi maganda ang mga nangyari kay Silver at parang mula sa Ina nito nanggaling considering what Kiel told them his hunch was telling him that it was from Silver’s mother.

“Jinoh? Nasaan ka?” Saad niya pagpasok sa bahay nito dahil kadalasan ay nasa sala lamang ito at tumatakbo sa thread mill.

“I’m here!” Jinoh shouted then pulled himself up from the pool. Jinoh walked towards the chair and grabbed his fluffy blue towel and wiped himself.

“Getting ripped padin?” Tanong ni Kaiser habang nakatitig sa katawan ni Jinoh, si Jinoh naman lihim na napangiti habang pinupunasan ang likod niya.

“Didn’t know you were into Korea men, prince Kai.” Then Jinoh kissed his cheek and ran towards the second floor.

“Fuck you! Fuck you! Park Jinoh!” Kaiser Scowled and ran after Jinoh, after a whole thirty minutes of chasing each other Kaiser and Jinoh’s energy slowly depleted so they both rested and talked.

“It’s here somewhere, san kaya banda yun?” Tanong ni Jinoh dahil bago yung sasakyan ni Silver walang tracker na nakakabit dito kaya nahihirapan silang i-trace san nagpunta ito.

“Try the siblings, baka abutin tayo ng siyam-siyam diyan.” Komento ni Kaiser at agad naman tiningnan ni Jinoh ang mga social media accounts ng mga kapatid nito, sa unang dalawa ay malinis ito yung kay Sidney at Sicel pero pagdating kay Sia ay nagpalit ito ng profile picture na kasama ang ina nila Silver at may caption na.

“Mahal na mahal kita ma, till’ we meet again.”

“Oh, kaya pala.” Kaiser spoke.

“Thanks Bud, I’ll wait for his girl please tell others.” Kaiser spoke hurriedly and ran towards Silver’s house to wait for his babe.

After ten minutes of waiting he saw Ligaya running towards Silver’s house but he was quick enough to stop her for a while.

“Hey? Ligaya right?”

“Ye-yes it’s me? You are?” Ligaya asked the man in front of him, he was so familiar but she couldn’t tell when was the time they met.

“Kaiser Hacken, nice to meet you.” Kaiser stated and offered his hand to Ligaya and she gladly shook it.

“Umm his mother died, he won’t talk to us, please talk to him alam mo naman ayaw niya i-share sa amin baka sa iyo ma-kwento niya. Please talk to him we’re counting to you.” Kaiser spoke respectfully to her and it touched her to see that his babe has friends like Kaiser and Kiel.

“Si-sige salamat Kaiser, una na ako ah. Hingin mo kay Sir Kiel ang number ko if kailangan mo, okay?” She said and Kaiser nodded and she immediately ran towards Silver’s house.

Agad siyang umakyat at dumeretso sa kwarto ni Silver, kumatok muna siya ng tatlong beses dahil akala niya naka-lock ang pinto. Kiel unlocked the door with a fork quietly so Silver wouldn’t notice and Ligaya could enter freely.

“Babe? It’s me.” She spoke loud enough for Silver to hear.

Silver’s senses finally woke up when he heard her spoke outside the door. Ligaya held the doorknob and to her surprise it was unlocked, when she entered his room it was filled with empty beer cans, empty beer bottles, and empty wine bottles.

“Babe? Sorry pumasok na ako ah.” Ani Ligaya habang dahan-dahan na lumakad tungo kay Silver, bago pa man niya marating si Silver na naka-salampak sa sahig at nakatango lang ay tumunog ang telepono ni Silver.

Pagtingin niya ay may 50 missed calls na ito at 100 texts from “Little Bro Sidney” and “Princess Sia”.

“Babe sagutin ko ah.” Saad niya at kinuha ang telepono at pinindot ang accept call button.

“Hello?”

“Kuya!? Nasaan ka? Ayos ka lang ba?”  Sunod-sunod na tanong ng lalaki mula sa kabilang linya.

“Umm Hindi ako si Silver pero kasama ko siya, bakit?” Tanong niya dahil parang nag-aalala ang mga ito kay Silver.

“Ayos ba siya? Wala siyang mga sugat?” Tanong mula sa kabiliang linya, nilapitan niya si Silver pero wala naman itong kahit anong galos.

“Wala naman, ayos lang siya.” Sagot niya, nakahinga naman ng ayos si Sidney ng marinig niya ito dahil kanina habang naghihintay sila ay nakita nila sa balita na may isang binatang nabangga sa expressway papunta sa Maynila, mabuti na lang at ligtas ang Kuya nila.

“Umm sige ate please tell Kuya that he should head home, we need him. Our mother died recently.” Sidney spoke whilst containing his tears.

“Oh, sorry for your loss Sidney, your kuya is devastated but I’ll try to talk to him. My name is Ligaya.” She assured Sidney and they both bid goodbye.

Naupo si Ligaya sa tabi ni Silver, hinimas niya ang likod nito at kapagkuwan ay humarap ito sa kaniya at bumuhos na muli ang luha ni Silver.

“Wala na si mama babe.” He uttered between his sobs as he hugged her, she gently ran her fingers to his hair to calm him down.

“Kasalanan ko lahat ng to eh! Kung sana pumunta ako kaagad nakasama ko pa siya ng matagal.”

“Shhhhhh it’s not your fault babe, isipin mo na lang ngayon hindi na siya naghihirap at nasasaktan.” Saad ni Ligaya kahit siya mismo konti na lang tutulo na din ang luha niya dahil kay Silver.

“Hinahanap ka na nila Sidney babe, kailangan ka ng mga kapatid mo.” Saad ni Ligaya at matapos ang ilang minuto ay tumahan na din si Silver at nayakap nalang ito kay Ligaya.

“I missed you Silver ko, don’t cry na naiiyak na din ako eh.” Saad ni Ligaya sabay pinunasan ang luha niya sa gilid ng mata niya.

“Can you, come with me? I’m shattered babe. Help me.” Silver spoke as if he’s hopeless, a few tears fell from her and she immediately wiped it. Silver was beyond in despair he never saw Silver like this vulnerable and shattered, most of the time he was the strong one but now Silver showed his vulnerable side.

“Oo naman, sasamahan kita.” Sagot ni Ligaya kaya parang naibsan na ang nararamdaman ni Silver ng dahil sa tugon ni Ligaya.

“Hubarin mo na yung sapatos mo babe tapos tulungan kita mag-pack ng damit mo, okay?” Silver nodded and removed his shoes and transferred to his bed and lie down.

“How bout' you? Paano ang damit mo?” Tanong ni Silver kay Ligaya na nakatitig sa harap ng walk-in closet ni Silver.

“I’ll ask Mira to pack for me kung pwede daanan natin?” Sagot ni Ligaya at agad naman tumango si Silver.


He shut his eyes close but tears won’t stop, his rage to his father didn’t died instead it heightened that he wants to kill his own father because of that.

“Babe pwede ba tulungan mo ko kunin yung bag mo? Para masimulan ko na mag-pack.” That Distracted Silver somehow he was finally smiling when he saw his Tigress packing everything for him, her hug and her kiss makes him feel better.

“Namiss kita sobra babe, sorry kung ang clingy ko.” Bulong ni Ligaya habang nakayakap kay Silver at ang mukha nito ay nakapangko sa leeg ng binata.

“Don’t be sorry, it helps me babe.” Silver whispered and caressed her cheek.

“Even if you’re against it I won’t budge babe you know that.” Ligaya stated with a sly smile, and after a lot of crying she finally heard his babe laugh again.

“I missed you too Tigress, let’s pack na.” Silver said and she helped him fold his clothes and undies in his Louis Vuitton Keepal Babdouliére 50 travel bag. She’s in constant awe seeing Silver’s stuff by the looks and feels of it she can tell that it’s very expensive.

“Babe pwede paabot ako ng phone ko.” Agad naman inabot ni Ligaya ang telepono ni Silver.

Silver personally called his brothers and sisters telling that he’s fine and he will return soon, he doesn’t want them to worry that’s why he called.

“Kuya naman eh! Bakit ka ba umalis?! Wala na nga si mama, nawala ka pa bigla.” His Little sister whined.

“Yes Sorry Princess I’ll return na kukuha lang ako ng damit and kasama ko din ang Ligaya ko.” Silver stated.

Her heart swoon when Silver said that she briefly paused folding his clothes, her heart wouldn’t stop thumping hard so she caressed it hardly to make it stop.

“Ligo lang ako babe ah, after alis na tayo.” Silver said and kissed her cheek before standing up and walked towards the bathroom.

“Silver naman ih!” She spoke then she cupped her face because she missed feeling Silver’s affection and now she’s with him now.

“Yes babe?” Silver spoke from the bathroom, he was naked already that’s why he didn’t walk out and ask why.

“Wala babe ligo ka na para mabango ka.” Saad ni Ligaya habang pinapasok sa travel bag ang damit ni Silver.

Pagkatapos nila maghanda agad na silang sumakay ulit sa sasakyan ni Silver pero may kasama ng driver silang dalawa sa likod, pagkatapos nila makuha ang damit ni Ligaya ay agad na silang bumyahe papunta sa Batangas.

Silver slept peacefully with his head rested to her lap, Silver finally slept peacefully now that he has his babe with him.

She gently rubbed his head and when times that his head is slowly slipping off she would hold it so that Silver would sleep peacefully.

“Ma? Mama? Mama ko?” Biglang sabi ni Silver at biglang bumangon, hinawakan naman ni Ligaya si Silver at parang biglang bumalik si Silver sa katotohanan.

Silver’s tears slowly streamed down his cheek, he felt his babe’s arm slowly wrapped around him and engulfed him into a side hug, she gently caressed his shoulder.

“Let it all out babe, it’s okay.” She whispered.

“Wag mo ko iiwanan babe, di ko kaya.” Silver managed to utter between his sobs.

“I won’t Babe, I won’t.” Ligaya whispered.

Natulog ulit si Silver at matapos ang tatlong oras na biyahe nakarating na ulit si Silver sa Batangas pero imbes na sa hospital pina-deretso na sila ni Sidney sa Funeral home.

Silver can’t bring himself closer to his sibling especially when he saw the pearl white casket in the middle of the room, then Ligaya held his arm that’s when he got the strength to bring himself towards his siblings.

“Kuya.”  Sia uttered and hug Silver, that’s when Silver finally let his tears fall around his siblings, Sidney and Sicel also shed their tears and they hugged Sia and Silver too.

Natigilan si Ligaya sa hitsura ng magkakapatid, matapos ang ilang minuto dahan-dahan na ding kumalma ang magkakapatid at lumapit silang tatlo sa harap ng casket ng kanilang ina.

“Uy! Galing ah nakasmile si mama tas clear skin na.” Biro ni Sia at mahina silang natawa, kinuha ni Ligaya ang telepono niya at kinunan ng litrato ang magkakapatid na nakadungaw si Silver ang nasa gitna at naka-akbay sa mga kapatid nito.

“Ma di kami mag-aaway away ma, bantayan mo kami diyan.” Saad ni Sidney sabay hinimas ang gilid ng casket.

“Pahinga na muna kayo, ako na muna bahala.” Saad ni Silver kaya naghiwa-hiwalay at naupo na din sila sa mga upuan.

“Kuya sobra sobra ang kaba namin kasi nabalitaan namin may na-aksidente sa expressway kala namin pati Kuya mawawala na din.” Ani Sia sabay yumakap kay Silver.

“Sorry Princess Kuya couldn’t take it, sobrang galit si Kuya eh tsaka sobrang lungkot ko. Sorry.” Tugon ni Silver sabay hinimas ang likod ni Sia.

“I heard everything Kuya.” Sidney spoke.

“Tell us Kuya, kapatid mo kami.” Turan ni Sicel mula sa likuran.

Sinimulan ni Silver magkwento kahit na sobra sobrang galit at lungkot ang nararamdaman niya dahil sa kaniyang ama, wala na sa kaniya kung marinig pati ni Ligaya ang kwento niya ang importante mailabas niya lahat ng sama ng loob niya.

The siblings couldn’t find the right words to say to Silver all they can do is be there for their older brother, Ligaya also heard what happened she texted her boss asking if she can call her, and when Leigh finally called her she excused herself to talk to her.

“Boss san ka?” Tanong niya.

“Ummm may lakad kami ni Kiel eh iniwan muna namin ang babies sa mga lolo’t lola nila.” Sagot ni Leigh pero sa totoo lang papunta na sila sa Batangas kela Silver.

“Boss kailangan ni Silver sila Sir Kiel, sana pag-free na sila sana mapuntahan nila si Silver sobrang durog siya boss pati mga kapatid niya.” Saad ni Ligaya at naupo sa hagdan ng entrance.

“Yes sasabihin ko sa kanila, our deepest condolences sa family ni Silver pasabi na lang.” Saad ni Leigh at kapagkuwan ay binaba na din ang tawag.

“Did you tell?” Kiel asked, Leigh shook her head as an answer.

Pagbalik niya pinakilala siya ni Silver sa mga kapatid nito.

“Sidney right? Ikaw yung tumawag?” Tanong ni Ligaya at agad naman nakipag-kamay si Sidney sa kaniya.

“I’m Sicel po.” Pakilala ni Sicel at sunod naman si Sia.

“I’m Ligaya Reyes my deepest condolences sa inyong magkakapatid.” They said thanks and started preparing snacks for the visitors.

“Ate kaya ko na po, upo ka na dun.” Saad ni Sia na naglalabas ng biscuits sa isang tray.

“Let me help Sia, di na ako bisita sige na alam ko kailangan niyo ng katulong.” Saad ni Ligaya kaya napilitan si Sia na magpatulong kay Ligaya.

“Salamat po ate “

Dumating ang hapon kaya nagsidatingan na ang kaibigan ng pamilya nila Silver, baryo lang naman kasi kaya mabilis kumalat ang balita.

“Ayos ka lang babe?” Tanong ni Ligaya kay Silver na nakaupo sa isang sulok at kapagkuwan ay inabot niya ang bagong timplang kape.

“Yeah, mama would’ve liked these, ok na kami ng mga kapatid ko.” Sagot ni Silver at humilig sa braso ni Ligaya na katabi nito.

“Babe talk to me ah wag mo sarilihin mahihirapan ka niyan, kami ng mga kapatid mo you can be weak hindi naman sa lahat ng oras strong ka eh.” Abiso ni Ligaya at kapagkuwan ay hinimas ang pisngi ni Silver.

“Thank you Tigress.”

When the night came Silver ordered food for then and they ate just before the people came, when people started piling up they served them snacks, coffee, and sopas care of Aling Remy their mother’s best friend.

As they were serving the guests high end vehicles started to park in front of the funeral home and Sia was the first one to see it, he immediately approached his older brother Sidney.

“Kuya friends mo ba yun? Papasukin mo.” Bulong ni Sia pero si Sidney di niya nanan mawari kung sino ang mga dumating.

“Di ko kilala princess baka sa Kuya Sicel mo or Kuya Silver.” Sagot ni Sidney pero bago pa man nila malapitan si Silver ay pumasok na yung nga bisita na di nila kilala.

Napalingon si Ligaya sa gawing likuran at nakita niya ang boss niya pati naman ang asawa nito at ang mga kaibigan ni Silver, unang lumapit si Leigh at Kiel kay Silver at agad naman yumakap si Silver kay Kiel.

“Wala na si mama Kiel.” Silver uttered and Kiel hugged him back, the other guys placed the standing bouquet and said their condolences to the siblings.

Kiel rubbed Silver’s back to comfort him and so is Leigh standing right beside Kiel.

“I know, my deepest sympathy buddy.” Kiel stated.

Nung kumalma na si Silver ay niyakap niya din si Leigh na katabi ni Kiel.

“Nasan sila Kleigh and Kaleigha?” Tanong ni Silver.

“Nandun sa lolo’t lola nila para naman matulungan ka namin Silver.” Saad ni Leigh at hinimas ang braso ni Silver.

“Thank you Guys.” He spoke not just for the couple but also to everyone.

Kaagad naman sumilip sila Kiel sa casket ng ina ni Silver at kapagkuwan ay naupo na din sa couch katabi ni Ligaya.

“Kamusta si Silver.” Tanong ni Leigh.

“Sobrang durog boss kasi marami siyang nalaman at sobra sobrang galit ang nararamdaman niya kaya parang nalipad niya mula hospital hanggang EV.” Kwento ni Ligaya.

“Ano ba ang nangyari? Na-kwento niya sa iyo?” Tanong naman ni Kiel.

“Nung nakwento niya sa mga kapatid niya narinig ko kasi nandun ako sa likuran nila.” Sagot ni Ligaya.

“From me and the gang we thank you for taking care of Silver, please continue doing so.” Kaiser stated frim the back.

“Thank you for coming too, Kai.” Ligaya answered.

Isa sa mga simbahan ang nagdaos ng service sa lamay ng ina nila Silver at nung oras na para magsalita ang magkakapatid tanging si Sidney lang ang tumayo para makapag-bahagi ng mga karanasan nila at pagkatapos non kaniya kaniya nanaman ang mga bisita.

“Ohhhhhh!!! Bobo! Tanga! Inutil! Di ka marunong!” Sigaw ni Diode kay Reagan nag-iinuman at nag-tongits  pero ang inumin  kape lang.

“Shhhhhh! Ingay mo naman Collins.” Saway ni Jinoh na nanonood ng palabas sa laptop nito katabi si Zion.

Si Leigh at Kiel kausap ang magkakapatid at si Ligaya at kinalaunan ay napansin ni Leigh na nakakatulog na ang asawa niya sa tabi niya.

“Anyways, balik kami bukas guys uuwi muna kami nito pagod na si Kiel eh galing work.” Saad ni Leigh at kapagkuwan ay hinatid na nila ang mag-asawa palabas ng funeral home.

“Ingat sa pag-drive buddy.” Saad ni Silver kay Kiel na parang nahihilo na sa sobrang antok.

“Don’t worry attorney, ako magmamaneho baka sugurin niyo ko lahat pag nasugatan to. Sige na bye attorney and Ligaya!” Leigh stated before starting the car and drove away.

“Oh shit, di ako marunong mag-drive babe pano tayo niyan pag pagod ka?” His curious tigress asked and it bent him, he was so sad and mad but his tigress wouldn’t let him be upset the whole day.

“I’ll drive sa nearest hotel tapos mag-check in tayo tapos sabay-

“Sex?”  Ligaya answered then Silver came closer to her and hugged her.

“Rest Tigress, rest. I may not have the energy to make love with you. But if you insist and I have a little bit of strength, why not?” Silver whispered and they laughed as they hugged each other.

“Nabubuhay talaga ang dugo ko sayo, gusto mo ba umuwi sa bahay? Or pumunta sa hotel ni Kiel? Para komportable ka pagpapahinga mo.” Turan ni Silver pagkatapos ay naghiwalay na sila sa pagkakayakap.

“Kung saan ka dun ako babe.” Sagot ni Ligaya at mas lalong bumilis ang kabog ng dib dib ni Silver.

Pumasok ulit si Silver at ganun na din si Ligaya, naupo sila sa tabi nila Sidney.

“Kuya Silver and Kuya Sidney uwi na muna kayo the next day kayo naman maiwan dito.” Saad ni Sicel.

“Huh? Kami ulit kayo naman magpahinga little bro and little sis.” Sagot ni Silver.

“Eh kuyas matatanda na kayo kaya siyempre ang matatanda kailangan na magpahinga diba Kuya Sicel?” Then the two high-fived.

Sia saw Silver’s stare at her and it made her re-evaluate her words.

“Ah si Kuya Sidney kasi matanda na eh bata pa yan si Kuya Silver eh diba ate?” Sia asked Ligaya and Ligaya nodded whilst containing her laughter.

“Sige na nga lika na Kuya at parang nagdidilim paningin ko dito sa prinsesa natin.” Saad ni Sidney si Silver naman agad na napangiti dahil masosolo niya na ulit ang babe niya.

“Princess watch your words, not because I have something for you, be nice to your Kuyas okay?” Silver stated with authority that it made Sia a bit scared.

“Yes Kuya, sorry kuya Sidney Love you po.” Siandra stated and it made Sidney smile because Sia listens to Silver now.

“Love you too princess babalik kami bukas ah. Sicel take care of your little sister. Love you Sicel bye!” Sidney spoke and tapped Sicel’s shoulder.

“Love you both Kuyas! Ingat kayo!” Sicel chirped.

“Love you little bro and sis, pahinga na kayo. See you tomorrow.” Silver spoke and at that moment Ligaya saw how happy Silver was with his little siblings, his eyes glimmered with love and care for them.

“Love you too Kuya.” Sicel and Sia said at the same time and the two laughed because they both said it at the same exact time.

“Sir Silver sabi po ni Sir Kaiser sa hotel daw po kayo ni Sir Kiel pumunta.” His driver stated respectfully.

Napalingon si Silver kay Sidney dahil parang nahihiya na siya sa kapatid niya nung iniwan niya ito kanina.

“Come with us Sidney.”  Silver spoke to Sidney.

“Walang tao sa bahay kuya eh, sige na dun na kayo ni ate sa bahay na ako wala din tao dun eh. See you tomorrow Love you Kuya.”

Silver hugged Sidney tightly and Sidney hugged him back then caressed his back.

“Love you bro”
“I can manage na malaki na ako.” Sidney joked.

“Manong Carlos siya na lang po ihatid niyo ako na magmamaneho, ingat kayo.” Utos ni Silver at agad naman inasikaso si Sidney.

“Text me when you get home.” Silver said and Sidney nodded before opening the car door and embarking the vehicle.

As they wait for their room at the lobby Silver hugged Ligaya and stayed there for a while.

“Babe sad ako.” Bulong ng binata kay Ligaya, agad naman humiwalay si Ligaya sa pagkakayakap at tinitigan si Silver dahil nag-alalala ito.

“Ano gusto mo? Kumain? Umiyak? Huh? Tell me.” Ligaya stated worriedly then Silver hugged her again.

“Let’s make love babe.”
