Soon after the encounter with Rafe and Barry, Sarah tried convincing her dad to choose between her and Rafe. She thought he would choose her but he didn't. Ward proceeded to call the cops afterwards which led to John B being caught.
Lila was distraught after John B was caught. She couldn't sleep at all because of the thoughts that wandered her mind.
"What if he gets jumped?"
"What if he kills himself?"
"What if he doesn't get out?"
"What if he gets the death penalty?"
All of those thoughts fucked her up for a little while. She would be curled up in her bed, her knees to her chest while she continued to let her mind get the best of her.
There was a part of her that hoped that everything would be okay, but she was soon told wrong. If John B was found guilty, his maximum sentence would be the death penalty. Lila was heartbroken at the thought, but even with all she was going through, she still had to work.
Lila got a new car, loaned from work for all of the hard work she's put into her job. She wasn't able to get the other car from Charleston back. Lila was driving home from her work when she got a text from JJ.
"Help! Meet me at 4th and Seneca. I'm stuck in an ambulance!"
Lila knew about JJ's insane plan to break her older brother out of prison, so she thought this was it. He actually went through with the plan even with Lila telling him not to. She didn't want JJ to go to jail either so she decided to go help out her boyfriend.
Lila drove to the location that JJ had messaged her until she saw an ambulance in the far distance. She stepped on the gas pedal immediately, sending herself driving towards the ambulance. She continued to drive towards the truck when she paused right in front of it recklessly without thinking. The ambulance stopped thankfully before it hit Lila.
"Move!" The driver of the ambulance yelled at the young girl.
"Sorry! I just got my license! My bad!" She shouted back to him with an anxious smile.
In her rearview mirror, she noticed her blonde friend rushing out of the ambulance and into the woods nearby. He was wearing a medic outfit that he probably stole from his cousin, Ricky.
"Move your car now!" He yelled once more before Lila moved out of his way.
The girl drove around the block near where JJ ran towards to find JJ hiding behind a tree. He had noticed the light of Lila's car headlights and hopped into the passenger's seat, making Lila jump a little. "Okay, first off-"
"Look, I broke the wrong guy out of jail. Sue me." JJ explained to her nonchalantly.
Lila's jaw dropped as her eyes widened at his words. "Why are you always doing such stupid shit?"
