"I mean, it's obvious, right?" John B wondered as he was driving. "A family heirloom. What better place to hide a message? He had to know it was gonna get back to me, right?"

"Yeah. It's possible." Kie replied.

"It could also be possible that you're concocting wild theories to help, you know, deal with your sad feels." Pope suggested, observing the compass as he did so.

"Bro, you know how I process my sad feels. Dank nugs and the stickiest of ickies, that's how I do it." JJ chimed in, Lila rolled her eyes and lightly slapped his shoulder.

"I'm not concocting, okay?" John B argued, cutting JJ off. "My dad's trying to give me a message."

"If it helps you believe, John B." Kie spoke to him softly.

"Look, I-I don't need a therapy session, okay? Look, I'm not trippin' out." The boy insisted.

Lila had hope that John B was right about their father but was scared about giving in. Having hope then losing it was the worst feeling ever. She didn't want to feel like she was losing her father again.

"It's okay to trip, bro, but-"

"Look, my... my dad is missing, okay? Missing." He assured them all, annoyed by their attempts. "You three don't know what it's like to have one of the people closest to you vanish and then have no idea what happened. Just wake up every morning wondering."

"It's been almost a year." Kie reminded him, making sure he stayed sane.

"Hey, he could have been kidnapped. That's definitely a possibility." JJ suggested.

"Yeah." Lila nodded, agreeing with the blonde sitting beside her. "People are so willing to find the Royal Merchant so why not take out their greatest competitor?"

"Yeah, could be in a Soviet sub

getting interrogated by the KGB somewhere." Pope added to JJ's suggestion.

"Absolutely. Uh... or Atlantis."

"JJ." Kie said his name to stop him from continuing. "Look, what do you think the message is?"

"Redfield Lighthouse. That's my dad's favorite place." He informed them.

"Lila! John B!" Their dad called to them. "Look at this view!"

The view was beautiful, the sunset above the ocean surface, the waves collided with the sand while the trees blew around in the wind.
