Dear Diary,
I realize my writing is a wee bit … well, not neat, but it can’t be helped.
Jess and I were pretty badly hurt. It’s a real pain trying to write with a forearm that practically has a hole in it. Yeah, how ‘bout that? I've got a holey forearm, thigh, and a broken wrist from when Jess landed on it when I passed out. The reason I passed out? One of the dicks with bows shot me in the stomach. It hurts like hell.
Jess is still unconscious. They say they don’t know if she’ll make it, but she will. I know she will.
And Mekisha, the pig, left us and ran for it. Of course, her excuse was to go and get help. What ever. She’d come to visit this morning, but I told her to get lost. I know it might have been a little rude, but she left me to die, for crying out loud!
Oh, by the way, we made it. We’re actually in the school of Larodar, in the hospital wing. The headmaster, Professor Darthorion, had already come to visit us. Twice, I think, but I’ve been unconscious the last three days. He summoned a bunch of flowers for me out of thin air. He said I was extremely noble, refusing to leave Jess behind. He doesn’t seem like a headmaster, more like a friend, but I guess I’m going to like that about him.
Anyway, what happened, right?
Well, after I got shot in the stomach (I was told this by Professor Darthorion) all the teachers got rid of the intruders. They couldn’t find the leader of the lot, and all the attackers refused to speak, so they were killed. It appears the two men I saw had already gone by that time. After they’d gotten rid of the enemies, they took me and Jess (and our trunks) up to the school. It turned out I was about a mile away. I just had to cross the hill and I’d’ve seen the tree through which I had to walk to go into the school grounds. It was marked with three slash markings. So simple, wasn’t it?
Not.
The place is gigantic, as in I think the Titanic could have fit in this place. As a matter of fact, I think five Titanics could’ve fit in it. Professor Darthorion gave me a bunch of pictures of the place, and a front-view picture. It’s beautiful! It’s architecture is different from any other building I’ve ever seen, and there are a range of mountains behind the forest. I can’t wait till Jess wakes up so we could go exploring.
Oh, speaking of which, I got my first magic ring this morning. It’s really pretty. The whole thing is black, even the stone encrusted in it. The only big of colour is the golden frame that held the ring in place. Professor Darthorion said it memorizes and names everything as I walk through the castle. If I want it to show the whole school, I just have to rub it. A holographic display of the school would be displayed, then I just have to poke my destination and it would guide me there. I don’t know how. I haven’t been allowed out of bed.
Damn, my arm hurts from all this writing.
Anyway, lessons start on the third of January (can you believe that?). Professor Darthorion said he’ll come explain everything to me before that. I overheard him asking special permission for him to tell me everything not long ago. He’d asked one of the other teachers, actually. Apparently they would’ve told us all as a group.
Well, I’ve been told my common room is on the seventh floor (spectacular), in the middle of the corridor.
The nurse is awesome. She’s given me all these weird sweets (some of them actually talk! It’s creepy!), like Strawberry Snaps (they’re my favourite). They’re these little round strawberry sweets that bite you if you stare at them.
