This was inspired by somebody in the ao3 comments.
"We're breaking up."
Wilbur couldn't hide the shakiness in his voice. He and Sally have been dating for three years. Leaving was heartbreaking, but it was for the good of himself, and Techno, his twin brother.
"WHAT?!" came Sally's shocked reply, "You can't just break up with me! We have been dating for three whole years. You have to do what I say, and I say that we don't break up!"
"The necklace you gave Techno changed his behavior completely," Wilbur argued back, "And you wouldn't tell me anything! If you expect me to never keep secrets, why are you keeping secrets yourself? You're just a little hypocrite."
"Well," Sally replied, "Haven't you thought of the fact that Techno hasn't told you anything? Techno is your twin brother! If he doesn't tell you his secrets, why am I expected to spill?"
Wilbur shook his head disbelievingly.
"Techno and I made an agreement," Wilbur started slowly, "We can keep secrets from one another, and we wouldn't pry when we suspect the other keeps a secret."
"You on the other hand," Wilbur added, pointing a finger in Sally's scaly face, "We agreed that we wouldn't keep secrets from each other! YOUR case is completely different from TECHNO's case. So don't you use Techno as an excuse!"
Sally started sobbing, big fat tears streamed down her face. But Wilbur knew that they were fake. He'd seen Sally's real cry and fake cry. Sally should have known so; they had been dating for three years.
"You crossed the line, Sally, and I'm not sorry. This was going to happen." Sally turned around and took off. Wilbur made sure that Sally did get into her car. (He may greatly dislike Sally at the moment, but he's not a complete arsehole.) Afterwards, Wilbur took a deep breath and walked back home.
It didn't matter that the moment he entered his room he started sobbing into a pillow. It also didn't matter that Technoblade comforted him while he did. The only important thing at the moment was that he ended a relationship that hurt his brother, and could possibly hurt himself.
