Chapter 40

Vincenzos POV

So far the date was going just as I had planned , Mabel was enjoying herself and as was I . Instead of taking her to a restaurant I wanted to go a little over and beyond for our first date and make a tiny picnic on a hillside giving us a nice view of the city , she smiled to brightly when she saw how it was decorated and immediately hugged me saying how she loved it.

I currently sat opposite her watching as she picked up fruits form the picnic basket and ate them . Her eyes met mine and a smile reached her face "what? You keep starin is there something on my face?"

I shook my head "I'm just admiring your beauty that's all baby."

"Thanks for everything vince I really appreciate it."

"It's okay."

"Where are we going after this?"

"I plan on keeping that a secret-"

"Nooo just tell me please babe you know how impatient I can get." She whined placing her fork down she reached for my bicep "Vince." She said moving the basket which was in between us aside , she scooted towards me and placed a soft kiss on my cheek. "Yes princess."

"Tell me baby." She kissed my face again and I couldn't resist the urge to kiss her back so I leaned into and she dodged it shaking her head "tell me first."

"Ice skating I wanted to take you there , mikayla told me how much you loved going there when you were younger."

"Yeah my mom would always take me until the drugs kinda messed with her head." She sighed a frown starting to appear on her face "hey don't be sad this nights supposed to be special for us."

"It is but I just can't help but think about my mom , she was always there for me and then she just abandoned us."

"Maybe it was for the best I mean look at you now you have me , your sister you don't need anyone else . So chin up beautiful and give me a kiss."

She looked at me for a second and then her eyes lingered at my lips I leaned towards her but she pressed her finger against my lips and smiled "what are you doing? Let me kiss you." She then removed her finger and her hands went to the sides of my face .

Our lips finally reached each other's and I could feel the excitement in my stomach, I'm not sure but there was something about her that made me feel some type of way which I couldn't explain . My arms then went around her body as I wanted to pull her close to me , and I did since I felt the warmth that radiating onto mine . My tongue then slid past her lips and I smiled against them as I saw the way she reacted , we both fought for dominance but of course I'd win .

She then broke the kiss pulling away catching her breath and I pressed my forehead against hers "you drive me crazy Hernandez."

A sudden vibration filled my pockets and I groaned fishing it out of my back pocket , it was Sandro I gave him exact instructions not to disturb me but he clearly didn't get the message.

"What's up?"

"Lucas Been taken and they wanna exchange me for him I'm going-"

"Woah slow down have you even thought this through ?"

"No I don't need to he's my brother vince I'm going-"

"It could be a set up Sandro think you know how Fernando is you need to think this through and if not at least take our men with you be prepared-"

"I am I'm going to the location he sent me right now, if anything happens-"

"Alessandro you need to turn that car right around and go back home think this through , it's not safe at least wait until I get there so we can actually plan-"

"Hurry up." The call ended and I let out a groan of frustration "what's wrong?"

"Come amore we gotta go." I stood stretching my arms out towards her which she took pulling herself up "what's going on?"

"Alessandros about to do something stupid."

"Where is he?"

"In his office." The guard told me and I nodded walking towards there , I understand why Sandro would just go off on his own but he needs to understand that going off somewhere without a plan always fails . I walked into his office to find him pacing up and down , he already looked stressed "now your here can we go?"

"No your not going anywhere before you think this through-"

"That's my brother if anything happened to him who else is there to blame!" He yelled and I sighed both Sandro and I had a temper yet his was way worse than mine mostly because I had self control and he didn't . "Okay think fernando calls you and what does he say?"

"He says he has my brother and tells me to meet him at this exact location." He pulls his phone out and I glance at the address , noticing very strange "that's less than half an hour from here Sandro isn't that weird ? We're in a safe house and someone tries to lure you out whilst the girls are here? There's an abandoned warehouse fifteen minutes away from here that's where they are , you just don't know who's going to be there , which is why I'd advise you to take your men."

"I'm gonna kill him-"

"Do you not think he won't be armed ? He's going to try and blackmail you which you can't fall for. Now I'll get our men prepared whilst you sort your,self out okay?"

"Yes."

Sandro and I had a really close relationships but when it came to certain thing
Things we were both there for each other and that's just how it's been ever since I first met him , he was there for me when my father passed away along with my mom and he was a brother to me and still is till this day .

I went towards my room which Mabel and I had been sharing for the past couple days mainly because she didn't like sleeping in a room on her own especially when she new I was here I told her I didn't mind but deep down I liked the fact that she didn't like being away from me .

She was no where in sight as I walked in the bed was still made form this morning and the bathroom was empty also , I checked the closet and found her standing in front of the mirror attempting to unzip her dress which she couldn't do .

"Let me help." I said and she turned her head as I stood behind her tugging the zip down , her dress fell and pooled at her ankles and now she stood in her matching underwear facing the mirror .

God she was so beautiful .

"Don't tell me you wore this on purpose."

"I didn't don't worry but Vince whats going on I heard yelling is everything okay?"

"Luca's been taken and I had to stop Alessandro from walking into a death trap, he was given a location which we're gonna go to soon but we need to prepare-"

"Is Fernando gonna be there?"

I sighed "yes he is-"

"I wanna come with you, I wanna kill him-"

"No Mabel you don't do anything you stay here it's not safe for you out there, I know your hurting baby but I promise you you'll get your chance just not right now."

"I hate him and I just want I'm to die."

"I know ." I kissed her forehead before pulling her into a tight hug "put some clothes on I don't want you to get cold." She pulled away giving me that look which meant she wanted to ask if she could wear mine stead of hers which she had been doing for a couple days "what it's way more comfier than my pyjamas ."

"Your the reason I run out of shirts."

"As if you don't have the money to buy a billion more." She said turning to my side of the closet and reaching for a black shirt, she slipped it on and as usual it looked like a dress , it hovered just above her knees and she gave me a little twirl before kissing my cheek "I just remembered your leaving me."

"It's important Mabel , I'm not sure what time I'll be back so try not to stay up to late-"

"You know I can't sleep without you next to me."

"Your gonna have to try your hardest tonight okay?"

"Yeah."
