Communication
"Rae, can I put my stuff with yours? My only bag broke." Rae wanted to laugh at his scuffness. He was standing by her door with his clothes at hand.
"I told you to buy one, but ya didn't listen." Rae folded her arms, and shook her head while Sykkuno stared blankly at her.
His bag wasn't totally broken. He could sew the piece that tore off and he'll be good to go. The reason he came was because Vivi's been gatekeeping him from Rae and he needed a good reason to hang out with Rae again.
"Forget it." Sykkuno turned to leave the room, feeling embarrassed that his plot didn't work out the way he wanted. Rae's eyes widened in surprise as she ran towards Sykkuno to stop him from leaving.
"Wait!" Lucky for her the door closed and Sykkuno's hand was filled with his clothes. "I can lend you another bag!" She quickly pulled him, dragging him towards her bed, and sat him there.
"No!" His immediate call for her attention made her frozen on the spot. His voice almost sounded desperate from her point of voice. "Y-You can bring your luggage. I'll carry it." His suggestion was not bad.
"Aww, you missed me that much?" She teased him. Sykkuno dropped his clothes on her bed and pulled her in for a hug. Rae became stiff. "Syk?" She called out to him, but he tightened his arms around her.
"Can we stay like this for a minute, Rae?" His soft voice made her wary. His voice made him seem fragile.
"Hey, take as long as you want." She was still standing in front of him while his face was buried in her chest. She could feel her tshirt becoming wet. The room was quiet enough that his little sniffles could be heard loudly.
"I'm sorry, Rae. I'm really, really, sorry." He was in an endless loop of apology. This made her heart break. Rae wanted to wrap her arms around him, embrace him, comfort him, but she hesitated. When it was just the two of them, Sykkuno was sweet and open to her, but in front of Vivi and the others it was as if she didn't exist. "Rae, please don't forgive me." His sudden change of phrase made her flinch.
'He hasn't done anything that was worth my anger. In the future is he going to?' Rae asked herself. Whenever Sykkuno chooses to protect her, his words are often encrypted.
"Syk, what's happening?" She asked him in a panic after picking up his message. Sykkuno shook his head and pulled her in even closer. She could feel his hot breath through her shirt. "Are you not allowed to tell anyone?" Sykkuno slowly nodded his head.
"I'm stuck Rae." He pulled away from her just to look her in the eyes. "I can't take it anymore. I'm scared." He was staring at her eyes, searching for answers.
Rae was lost. She didn't know how to respond. All she knew was that Sykkuno was barely afraid of anything, not even death itself. "I..." She trailed off not knowing what to say. His tears were pouring out like a crystal river. Her vision became blurry, as she felt some hot tears streaking down her face. "Don't cry." She laughed, as wiped his tears off. He's barely afraid and he barely cries.
"You're crying..." Sykkuno pointed out as he cupped her cheeks.
"Well, if you didn't crying then you wouldn't have broken my heart!" She pouted, as he smiled. She knew how to lighten his mood up. "Syk, I trust you, okay?" Sykkuno's breath hitched under Rae's stare. She grabbed his hand behind her and brought in front of them. She intertwined both of their hands together. "Whatever it is that you're going through I trust that you'll find the answer." She smiled at him with confidence. "Cause you're my brain cell. Live the name!" Sykkuno chuckled at the sudden passion in her voice. "Now, help me pack up before Toast kills the both of us for being late." This sentence earned a full laugh from Sykkuno.
