Chapter 21 || Under the stars

A/n: I'm gonna put a little 🔻 when what's being said is just explaining what happened in the previous chapter because I know that's probably boring to read and you can skip that paragraph if you want.

"Why are you bullying Gowther?"

"Eh?" He says like he doesn't know what you're talking about which pisses you off.

"You heard me asshole, why are you acting like some school yard punk?"

"I was just testing the waters Y'know? Takin' that new heart of his for a test run."

You pinch the bridge of your nose. "Yeah well you really hurt his feelings, he isn't some Guinea pig to be experimented on, leave him alone."

"Sure, sure."

"I mean it! I won't hesitate to tell Elaine you're being an ass."

This seems to catch his attention. "Aye, I said I was sorry calm down!"

"I'm not who you need to be apologizing to."

His shoulders slacken as he gives you a disbelieving look. "No, you can't be serious."

"Dead. Now go!"

"Absolutely not."

"ELAI-"

He lunges to cover your mouth. "ALRIGHT JEEZ!"

He marches upstairs like a 6'11 child. You follow him up shortly after to make sure he apologizes properly. Which he does, he comes out of the room and looks at you for your approval. You nod sending him downstairs to continue his work.

You slink into the room where Gowther is with a small smile in your face. "Ta-da!"

"Thank you Y/n but really you didn't have to do that."

"None sense, he has to realize you aren't the same person as you were before."

"Um, if you aren't busy, maybe would you like to do something today? Y'know, together." He asks cautiously, not quite meeting your gaze.

Your heart rate picks up and you can't help the smile that tugs at your lips. "Gowther, are you asking me on a date?" You say in a teasing manner.

"W-well um!- yeah, I am." He adjusts his glasses to finally look at you.

"Alright then, I'd love to."

He smiles and pops up from where he's seated excitedly. "Okay, I'll go get ready!"

You can't help but laugh at his eagerness. "Wh- haha hey! Do you even know what we would be doing?"

"Yes! Don't worry I got it."

You shake your head, deciding in the meantime to go get something nice to wear for the date. "Y/N!" Your heart jumps into your throat at the loud shout of your name.

You turn to the window to see Diane's giant eye outside the open window. "Dia what the hell!"

Two fingers reach in through the window to pluck you off the bed. "OH MY GOD! IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" She shrieks while jumping up and down.

"DIANE, FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK, WILL YOU PLEASE CALM DOWN!" You start feeling sick with all the rattling.

"Right, sorry." She lays on her stomach and places you down in front of her looking at you expectantly.

"Guessing you want details huh?" She nods her head with a big goofy grin on.

"Well there's really not much to say yet, when he was monitoring my dreams I think he purged them even though Merlin told him not to. I woke up late last night and he was there beside me, comforting me." You start to feel a little shy when remembering what happens next. "Then I uh, invited him to lay with me."
