Bakugo lands in front of you and glares up at the sky after the retreating form of the rock bird as it rapidly gets farther and farther away. "Damn flying beast, you couldn't just die!"He kicks frustratedly at the dirt and finally seems to register your presence. "What the hell are you doing here? Get out of my way! I need to kill that dumb bird."
"Oh, really?" you cross your arms, "Well, it attacked me just fine, so it looks like you didn't make very much progress in killing it."
"The hell it attacked you! Why would it go after a loser like you? Besides, you would be dead in two seconds if that dumb hunk of rock attacked you," Bakugo smirks confidently.
"Yeah, well at least I managed to do some actual damage to it! I blasted a hole through it's chest and crushed its talons," you inform Bakugo smugly. "I didn't see any damage on it that you inflicted. Plus, I'm not the one whose flag the bird is flying off with."
"You mean you actually chased off the rock beast?!" he say incredulously. Bakugo's rage suddenly consumes him again and you become the new target. "So you're telling me you're the reason I lost track of my last flag!"
"The giant scary bird attacked me! What was I supposed to do, huh? Let it eat me?" You say more calmly, "Besides, I didn't notice that red flag on its tail until it was flying away already. Otherwise, I would have tried to grab it."
Bakugo scoffs, "Like you could retrieve the flag from that bird." Small rapid explosions burst from his hand, "But now, you're the reason the bird is long gone and I have to track it down all over again. YOU'RE REALLY PISSING ME OFF."
You take a cautious step back, so you can throw up a barrier in time if Bakugo decides to blast you. "If anything, I should be mad at you for leading that crazy thing straight to me!"
"Shut up, dammit! You made me loose my flag! You need to be put in your PLACE!" Bakugo swiftly raises his arms and an explosion blasts out. You don't hesitate and throw up a barrier around your whole body as you see the explosion bounce harmlessly off your barrier. The smoke dissipates and you stand there watching Bakugo.
"What the hell is that, dammit?! That explosion should have killed you!" Bakugo storms up to your barrier and pounds against the translucent purple sphere encasing you safely inside.
You smile out at Bakugo placidly and cross your arms before informing him, "This Bakugo, is my quirk Barrier, which allowed me to scare away the rock bird. And now it is also what is protecting me from your explosions."
"Dammit loser! Get out of there so I can teach you a lesson," Bakugo snarls even angrier now.
"Hmm, let me think about that... no! I don't think I will. I really like it in here." You stand there calmly and watch in amusement as he volleys a series of explosions right up against the surface of your Barrier.
Bakugo's explosion blasts get bigger and more violent the longer they blast against your barrier without any affect. His face contorts with rage as he punches the barrier with yet another explosion and nothing happens.
The only down side is that the explosions outside the barrier are really loud and it's starting to give you a headache. So, you press your hands against the barrier and make it a little bigger so there is enough space. Then, you proceed to make a second and third barrier inside the original one. Ah there. That is much better. Your barriers do a better job of blocking out sound if there are more layers of them.
Man! Your head is really pounding now and Bakugo doesn't look like he is going to stop blasting you anytime soon. So, you sit down in your barrier and lean back against it's light purple surface.
The explosions pause briefly and you vaguely hear Bakugo yelling something at you, but you don't really care anymore. A second later, he goes back to exploding the barrier and smoke surrounds everything again. You cross your arms behind your neck and close your eyes to rest your pounding head. Soon you drift off into a light sleep.
----------------
When your eyes open again and your headache is gone. You are confused for a moment and sit up inside your barrier, looking around, wondering what is going on.
Oh, right. Rock bird, Bakugo thinks I stole it, so now he's attacking me, yada-yada-yada, you recall. No more smoke is surrounding your barrier, so you take down the second and third barrier you erected until you are only left safely encased in the original. You stand up and circle around to see Bakugo hunched over on his knees panting. He looks exhausted.
You feel a little bad for him, but then remember all the terrible things he's said to you and the mean things he's done, and you don't feel bad anymore.
"TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES!" Present Mic- or should you say Evil Mic, blares.
Wow, I was out sleeping for a while, you think. But 45 minutes is still plenty of time for you to recover your last two flags considering you know where one is and how quickly you obtained the first three.
You stare at Bakugo, studying him for a few seconds before determining he probably doesn't have enough energy left to attack you again. And even if he does, you can always just throw up another barrier.
"Bakugo, I'm taking down the barrier now," you announce and make the barrier disappear. You walk toward him and stop plenty of feet away, "Are you done attacking me now?" You shake your head at him disappointedly at how far he pushed himself, "You look like you can barely stand."
"Shut up, loser. I'm fine." Bakugo barely manages to rise as he pulls himself to his feet. He's not hurt or anything, just extremely exhausted. "I'm going to blast you to pieces."
"Look at you," you mutter. "Bakugo, you can barely keep your eyes open."
He staggers a step forward before collapsing to the grounding, closing his eyes and muttering quietly, still managing to sound angry, "I'll find that stupid bird, dammit. Blast it straight to hell."
Andddd he's asleep. You really shouldn't help him, but you create a large barrier around Bakugo's unconscious figure to protect him and dart off in the direction of your flag. Eventually, you run across the small rock pile Iida mentioned. And... the tree monsters guarding it.
You trap two of them in a barrier and take on the third. Just like with the rock bird, you use your quirk to form several small barriers and hurl them at the big tree monster. After a few hits, it crumbles into a big pile of wood and you spot your yellow flag perched on top of the rock pile.
Swiping it off a larger boulder, you stick it in your pocket along with all the other flags. Okay, now only one left to go. You notice a pattern to how all of your flags are placed. One in the east, two in the south, and one in the west. So, that means the last flag is somewhere to the north.
You hope you are right, because if you're not, then you are probably going to fail this training exercise.
