Bakugo Won't Budge

Classes go by day by day, the same old routine: lunch with your friends and Bakugo glaring at you in class.

Wednesday night, the evening before the field trip, you lay your uniform over the desk chair so it is out and ready to wear for the next day. You make sure the small backpack you are bringing is prepared. Double checking inside it to make sure all your snacks, water bottle, and notebook are in there. You meet everyone in the common area for a quick dinner, but excuse yourself from the meal early because you want to work on some homework before the field trip.

You get to bed at a reasonable hour and wake up Thursday morning relaxed and ready to go. Since everything is set out, you go through the motions of getting ready and amble downstairs for breakfast.

After you're done eating, you're one of the first ones outside and you stand under the dorm overhang to wait for the bus. Aizawa walks out from the main school building a few minutes later and arrives at the dorm just as a big bus pulls up.

Denki is the last one to run out of the dorm as the bus pulls up. The rest of class 1A is already waiting at the bottom of the steps by Aizawa.

"Everyone here?" Aizawa's passive gaze roams over the students. "Good? Good. Now everyone on the bus."

Mina, Sero, and a few others surround Aizawa. "Where are we going? Can you tell us now?" Mina begs, bouncing on her toes.

"No." Aizawa rejects flatly.

Iida, Momo, Jiro, Uraraka, and Deku are first on the bus. They sit at the very front, leaving a seat open for Mr. Aizawa. Mina, Denki, and Sero sulk onto the bus next after having their inquiry be shut down by the teacher. You get on the bus next, climbing up the stairs.

You scan the bus and automatically go to the very back of the bus like you always do. You sit down in the very last seat by the window, until it occurs to you that you don't have to do this anymore. You always used to sit at the back of the bus by yourself at your old school because no one wanted to sit next to you. Old habits die hard you guess.

You watch more people file on until the bus is comfortably full. There are still two open seats up front, a few vacant in the middle, and several open seats around you in the back. Barely anyone else sits back here besides Tokoyami, but the bird boy sits a few rows in front of you. You also happen to notice that Deku and Uraraka are sitting together and seem quite engrossed in conversation.

You look out the window at the dorm and only six people are left waiting to board. Tsu gets on next, followed by Bakugo. His dark red gaze scans the bus before landing on you with laser focus. You turn away and avert your gaze back out the window.

The last thing you expect is for Bakugo to sit down right next to you!

You startle in surprise and grip the edge of the seat with both hands. Bakugo slides into the seat and his leg brushes your hand still gripping the seat. You inadvertently flinch and drop your hand to grip your knee instead.

You crane your head over the seat in front of you and look at all the empty seats he could have chosen.
There's one empty seat left up front. All the vacant spots in the middle have been claimed, but there are four completely empty rows of seats in the back.

Your surprise turns to confusion as you slump back down into your seat and meet Bakugo's intense stare. Why the heck did he sit all the way back here? Is it too late for you to change seats? Yes. You glance down at Bakugo's long legs blocking your exit. Nope, you are stuck at this window seat.

Aizawa is the last one on the bus and sits at the very front as the bus as it closes it's doors and starts to roll away. Excited chatter fills the bus and Aizawa immediately lays down in his seat wrapped in his yellow sleeping bag and starts snoring. You rest your hands on either side of your knees again to drum the edge of the seat with your fingers, bouncing your leg nervously.
