A soothing, cool draft brushes the soft pores of my skin. Breathing in, the fresh smell of sand and water greet my senses. My hair brushes the sides of my cheeks, stirring up in the soft gushes of breeze that travels through the room. Opening my eyes, a fine wooden ceiling rests above me.

I tilt my head to the side to see where I am. Doing so causes a piercing pain to shoot through my skull. As I wince, the pain begins to throb to the beat of my heart. I place a gentle hand on my forehead, trying to ease the pain. The sunlight that peaks into the room causes the pores of my skin to shine. It reveals red, swollen areas along my wrists. By the looks of it, it seems I was bound in some way.

Thoughts begin to overwhelm my mind but nothing is able to give an explanation as to where I am or why I am here. To make matters worse, it seems I can't even recall who I am, what's my name, where I'm from. Nothing comes up, nothing but a black abyss of empty space.

The feeling causes a slow panic to form in my gut. It explodes through my veins, making the throbbing in my head worse as my heartbeat accelerates. I push my back against the bed, trying to raise myself into a sitting position. Doing so is excruciating and exhausting. It feels as though my body is still recovering from something, but I don't know what.

I finally am able to sit up. However, doing just that has left me out of breath. I look around the small room I am in. It lies empty, nothing but a desk on the other end of the room and a small dresser resting beside it. Above the dresser is a small window where the wind makes its entrance. My level on the bed is too low for me to see what rests outside. All I can see are the herds of clouds sweeping along the current of the wind above. The sun continues to shine vibrantly, but by its direction in the sky, evening is soon to come.

I desperately try to find a clue, anything that can help explain why I am here. My eyes fall onto my chest, a bright blue amulet resting against it. It's held together by a silver chain. A slight sense of fear shoots through me as I place my thumb and index finger on it.

Footsteps suddenly approach the door. My heart begins to pound violently against my chest as they creep closer. A short woman with long, black hair suddenly enters the room. She hops in, distributing her weight onto a single crutch. Looking her over, she's dressed normally, wearing a white blouse with a tan trench coat over it. Along with it she wears a long skirt that touches her ankles. The only strange thing about her is the red armband on her left arm that holds a white, eight jagged star. "Glad to see you're awake." She speaks to me in a soft voice. The sound of it is as gentle as a kitten's. It seems to put me at ease and my beating heart slows.

A tall, broad man enters the room after her. He's dressed in a much more professional uniform, making him look like an officer. On his left shoulder, he also wears a red armband with the same symbol on it. His pale blonde hair is neatly cut in an undercut, parted across the middle which causes short bangs to hover over his brows. His head tilts to the side. Doing so, the reflection in his glasses shifts, revealing his gray eyes. "Welcome." He says to me, his voice low and quiet. Looking at him causes a stir of unease in my gut. "I'm Zeke Jaeger, and this is Pieck Finger."

Due to the confusion, no words escape me as I open my mouth to respond. My eyes fall onto my lap. My mind remains a blank space. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to form any thoughts. It's like closing my eyes and seeing nothing but the black curtain my eyelids form with the soft specks of static. Just sheer nothingness.

"I'm sure you're confused. I'll fill you in best I can." Zeke assures me. "You're currently in Liberio, the metropolis of Marley. We rescued you from Paradis Island. It's just off the coast of Marley where the devils live. You were trapped there for five years. Due to what you are, they wanted to exploit you and use you to destroy the world. You're something known as a Celestite." Explaining further, he mentions the amulet around my neck and what it will do if I attempt to use my magic or try to regain my lost memories. Along with that, he mentions the power I hold within and the Mark of the Celestite. He explains that granting it to one of the Warriors will turn them into a god, cancelling out the Curse of Ymir in the process.
