●☆Kamala POV☆●
My eyes widen.
"Oh that's, that's something" Doug says as I look around for something
to wipe his sides.
"Baby it's okay, they're just nail marks with a little blood i'll be fine".
"Okay." I feel another contraction and turn to grip the sheet on the
bed. Doug wipes off the blood and washes his hands as he starts
rubbing my back again. A nurse comes in and asks Doug "Dr Stevens was wondering if your wife wanted any medication for the pain."
●★Doug POV★●
I smirk for a second and look at Kamala
"You want an epidural baby?"
Through gritted teeth she says "No drugs, I want to take this journey
without drugs, read the birth plan I wrote out!"
"Okay, no thank you she's good".
"Okay, Dr Stevens will be in again soon to check her progress."
"Okay thank you".
Dr Stevens walks
in few minutes later and puts on gloves "Alrighty lets take a look"
Kamala gets on the bed and Dr Stevens examines her. "You're at 8
centimetres, just a little bit longer. Your babies heartbeat is nice
and strong.
Have you felt her kicking?"
Kamala shakes her head "I haven't been paying
attention."
I take a deep breath.
Dr Stevens nods "Okay thats okay I can feel that
she has moved down more. You are doing amazing".
Dr Stevens talks to me "I think it
will be a bit longer, it is her first baby so it will take longer than if
it was her second baby. You could get her some ice chips to keep her
mouth moist and a cold wet cloth for her forehead too".
"Okay, I'll be right
back" I leave and go get some ice and come back "do you have a cloth?"
A nurse gives me a cloth.
3 hours later it is about 12:30AM.
"D...Doug I feel the urge to push."
"Okay" I get up and grab the doctor.
"Okay, you are fully dilated and I can see your babys head." Dr
Stevens steps out of the room to get the rest of the team. After they
have finished preparing Dr Stevens says "Okay, lets get you into
delivery position."
●☆Kamala POV☆●
I grip Doug's hand. And after pushing for atleast half an
hour I look at him,"You got this baby" he whispers.
"It hurts so much, you did this to me! Why would you want to put me
through this much pain!? I am never having sex again!"
"Okay your baby is getting closer but I need you to stop pushing so
her head isn't born too abruptly. Breathe through your mouth, grunt if
you need to."
I huff and puff, breathing through my mouth trying not to push. Doug
kisses my head.
"Her head is crowning, Would you like to see Doug?"
I look up at
Doug still panting and grunting.
●★Doug POV★●
I look and see a little of Kali's head and smile "aww
hi"
"I Wanna see!" Kamala grunts loudly. I look at the Doctor who gets a
a nurse to set up a mirror so she can see and instantly her expression
softens. Kamala reaches down
to feel Kali's hair and takes a deep breath. She looks up at me with tears
in her eyes and I feel my own tears well up. I squeeze her hand and
kiss her head.
"Okay Kamala I want you to give me one more big push okay?"
I take a deep breath and give one big final push,
grunting and squeezing Dougs hand tight. I loosen my grip and burst
into tears when I finally hear Kali's cries.
●★Doug POV★●
I feel tears start to stream down my face as I see Kali.
A nurse helps Kamala untie open her gown, while Dr Stevens asks "Would
you like to cut the chord Doug?"
I take the scissors attempt to cut it but its difficult. Finally the
cord cuts and I wipe some of my tears.
They place Kali on Kamala's bare
chest, for skin to skin contact. "Hi baby girl" she says softly
holding her close to her.
I look at Kali in her mommys arms and smile then look at Kamala, I
give her a loving kiss on the lips "I'm so proud
of you".
