Monday arrives and I wake up early to go for a jog. I go home and go to our bathroom to clean the sweat off me and I find Doug showering before work.
"Is there room for one more?" I ask.
Doug smirks, i know because i hear it in his voice, "of course there is".
I undress and step in "Good morning baby."
"good morning love".
"So are you excited for our appointment today?"
"very"
"Im not sure when we get the amniocentesis results but probably in the next few days."
"okay".
I calm my excitement down, "im sorry."
●★Doug POV★● I cup her face "what's wrong?"
"I thought my excitement upset you."
"no it didn't, i'm sorry love i'm just really tired".
I nod "sorry thats my fault too."
"no it's not love i promise"
She smiles "Okay" then starts washing herself.
"but i'm gonna be late i love you" i kiss her head and step out grabbing a towel.
●☆Kamala POV☆● I frown and just stand there alone.
●★Doug POV★● I get dressed and ready for work, I hate doing that to her but i have to leave unfortunately.
●☆Kamala POV☆● Later in the day I drive my car to my Dr's appointment where Doug said he would meet me. Ive been waiting in the waiting room for an hour so I just head in alone.
●★Doug POV★● I'm driving as fast as what is legal, I had an unexpected meeting and it took up so much time, I make it to the doctors and walk in trying to find her.
"can I help you sir?" the woman at the desk asks.
"hi so my girlfriend had a pre-natal appointment for I just wanted to see if she's in that appointment or not" "What is her name?"
"Kamala Harris"
"Yes she went in not that long ago" She shows me to the room "Just head on in."
"thank you" i walk in "i'm here sorry i'm late i had an unexpected meeting".
She looks up and reaches for me, i can tell shes been crying. I get close to her and squeeze her hand.
The doctor inserts a needle into her stomach.
I watch him "what is he doing?" I ask her in a whisper.
"taking some of the amniotic fluid to test for chromosomal diseases and also gender."
"oh okay"
"now lets take a look at your baby" the doctor says as he starts performing an ultrasound.
●☆Kamala POV☆● I look up at Doug when our babys heartbeat fills the room.
Doug smiles and feels tears well up.
After making sure everythings okay the doctor says "I will call you guys in a few days with the results of the amniotic fluid."
"Okay" after our appointment we walk out with the pictures and a disk.
"well what do you want to do now?" Doug turns to me and asks.
"Up to you."
"okay well what i want to do is what you want to do"
"Well im kind of hungry."
"you wanna go out to eat, or we could head home i'll make you something and i could pick up the kids too cause it's 1:00"
"I guess we could go out."
"are you sure, you seem uncomfortable with that option".
"Im just really nervous and uncomfortable with how i look rn".
"okay then let's go home".
I smile "Okay".
We get in our separate cars and drive home.
We walk in and the head builder wants to show us what they've done so far. We walk around towards the hallway. They've done the doorway and started the framework.
Doug starts talking to the workers as I just stand there looking around beginning to picture our baby in this room.
Doug ends his conversation and goes to the kitchen "what would you like?"
"uh something healthy, ive been eating too much junk lately".
"okay something like a salad?"
"Yes please baby."
"okay, you want chicken or steak in it or with it?"
"maybe some chicken please."
"okay"
I blow him a kiss and he catches it with a smile as he starts making the salad and cooking the chicken. I sit on the couch.
Doug brings the plate to me "now you you want ranch or blue cheese?"
"I cant eat blue cheese."
"so you want some ranch?"
"Yes please"
"okay" he goes back to the kitchen and grabs the ranch then comes and gives it to me, "the kids should be home soon" he says.
"okay, Jellyfishes room is looking amazing, i cant wait to decorate it with you."
He smiles "yeah me too".
I start eatting as i kick my heels off. "my feet are killing me."
"mm i can imagine" he says as we hear Ella come in the house so Doug greets her at the door "hey princess".
"Hi Daddy."
"how was school?" he pulls her close.
"It was okay. How was work?"
"it's fine, same old same old"
I pull my phone out and do some online shopping, buying a foot spa/ massager.

Doug ruffles Ellas hair, "your mom is home wanna say hi?"
"yeah where is she?"
"in the living room"
I lookup and see Ella. "Hey sweetie."
"hi mom" she says with a big smile
"whats up? how was school?" I ask putting my phone down.
i sit next to her laying my head on her shoulder "it's was okay"
I smile and continue eating.
"i'm so tired though"
"aww sweetie, im sorry. You can go lay down if you want.".
"nope i'm gonna chill here" she says closing her eyes.
"Okay" I smile and put my plate aside.
She ends up falling asleep on my shoulder. I smile and carefully take a selfie.
My head slowly moves from her shoulder to her stomach and down to her lap. I feel jellyfish kick and whisper "Jellyfish calm down its just sissy."
Doug looks at us and smiles as I feel the kicks get softer "Good jelly fish."
I start to stroke Ellas hair.
"Do you want me to take her off you lap?" Doug whispers .
"no its okay" i say.
"okay". A few minutes later "Dougie, i gotta pee."
"i got her" he carefully lifts Ella up and holds her as I run to the toilet.
●★Doug POV★● I smile as Ella sleeps "dang princess you were really tired" i say in whisper. Kamala comes back, "sorry".
"it's okay she's still knocked out anyways"
"shes really tired huh?"
"very, ill but her in her room unless you want her on your lap again?"
"up to you."
"baby she's going on your lap, do you want her on your lap or not?"
"I guess."
"baby it's a yes or no question"
"Yes but you might have to remove her again."
"okay that's fine, shes light anyways" I smile. I lay ella back down on Kamala's lap.
●☆Kamala POV☆● I stroke her hair again as she slowly wakes up.
"Hey sorry sweetie."
"hmm?"
"Did i wake you?"
"no, I was having a dream"
"what happened?"
"kerstin happened"
I gulp "want to talk about it?"
"not really.." she says.
●◆Ella POV◆● " Oh Okay thats fine.". I nod and look at dad, feeling tears form.
●☆Kamala POV☆● I look up at doug. "I'll get us some ice cream."
Ella sits up and hugs her knees to her chest feeling the tears slip out.
I come back with some icecream. "here you go sweetie.."
Ella looks up at me and takes the bowl "thank you mom".
"You're welcome sweet heart."
She places the bowl on the top of my knees.
"did you feel jellyfish kicking your head?".
She wipes her tears "yeah i did".
I look at Doug again. He looks at me and frowns "i don't know" he mouths to me.
"Whats your favourite take away i'll get it for dinner?".
"i'm not really hungry so you guys can order what you like".
I look down at my hands "Oh".
Ella just nods.
"Will you guys please excuse me." I clear my throat.
"yeah" Ella gets up and heads to her room. I look at Doug then the bowl of icecream that is melting.
"maybe go talk to her".
I wipe my tears away and start walking upstairs.
I walk in and wrap my arms around her.
She cries into my chest "she tried to kill you"
"Baby its okay, im okay, Jellyfish is okay."
"then she tried to kill Cole and then Dad and saved me for last".
I gulp "Oh."
She nods "but i'm not worried, I know that i'm safe with you and dad"
"thats good" i wipe my tears and look up at her, "Im glad i make you feel safe."
"me too".
I hold her close and groan when Jellyfish kicks hard.
"i felt that, dang they kicked you hard".
"Yeah i think theyre just checking to make sure you are okay."
"i'm okay jellyfish, i promise" she says to my bump and I just smile and watch her interact with my bump.
She wipes her tears and smiles. I move her hair from her eyes.
Ella looks up at me and i ask, "You okay?"
"yeah i'm good"
"What do you wanna do?"
"i'm not too sure"
"Okay. You and I could go out for dinner just the two of us." "okay" "I'll let your dad know."
"okay, i'll get ready".
I kiss her head and smile then I head downstairs.
Ella smiles, then takes a deep breath and gets ready.
"Dougie. it will just be you and Cole here for dinner."
"okay" he nods.
"it'll be good for you two guys to have guy time."
