A week later I am in the kitchen making myself breakfast when Doug walks in ready for work. We still aren't really talking.
●★Doug POV★●
I open the fridge and grab an apple, then grab everything I need. I begin to walk away, when I feel a soft hand grab my hand "Wait" she speaks softly. I look down at her hand and back up into her eyes.
"I've been reading that babies know when their parents are fighting" she says.
"oh-okay.." I say, a little disappointed.
"And it can impact their development" Kamala continues.
"oh.."
"I guess what I am trying to say is...I'm sorry, I understand you have a job and you are providing for us. I know your job is important, but I just wanted you to watch Kali while I showered, because I hadn't showered in a week" she explains, I can tell she means it.
"That's perfectly okay, you should've just told me. You know I would have" I tell her in a soft, loving voice.
"I know Honey, but I'm so sleep deprived that I just didn't have the energy to argue."
I sit down and pull her onto my lap "I know baby but you need to get sleep and I need to be a father, that's the bottom line".
●☆Kamala POV☆●
I look into his eyes "I know I need sleep but its easier said than done."
"I understand baby but just give yourself sometime okay?"
I nod "Okay, I will try to nap today when Kali naps."
He smiles and kisses me passionately, I kiss back.
●★Doug POV★●
I cup her face, and place one of my hands on her thigh. She look at my hand on her thigh. I realize she may be uncomfortable so I move my hand up to her face.
"Thanks" she whispers.
"You're welcome my love"
●☆Kamala POV☆●
I look at the clock. "You're going to be late for work."
●★Doug POV★●
I smile as she gets up, I grab my stuff and kiss her temple. "I love you so much".
"I love you too" she says then I smile and walk out the door.
