Anna searched through my closet to find a cute outfit for me to wear. She grabbed a white-laced tee-shirt and washed jeans with my grey Sperry's. I changed into the outfit and brushed out all the knots in my light brown hair, then settled on some natural looking makeup.

"I never thought I'd be getting one of my friends ready to go on a date with a member of One Direction."

"It's not a date." I scoffed.

"It's totally a date." Anna crossed her arms.

"Tell him to tell Zayn all about me." Pleads Katherine.

"Isn't he engaged?"

"Don't ruin my dreams, Mia. Please?" I laugh, "Fine."

I hear a knock on my door at 4:00 on the dot.

Katherine begins to squeal but I press my finger to my lips signaling for her to shush. She nods, then twirls a strand of my hair.

"You got this, girl." She smiles. I smile back, then make my way to the door. I open it to see Niall standing there, his hands in his pockets. We make eye contact and he smiles at me. He reaches his hand out for me to take, which I do.

"Hey." He says.

"Hey." I respond.

Katherine and Anna stand a few feet behind me, giggling and talking.

"Oh, these are my friends, Katherine and Anna." Niall smiles and waves at them. "Nice to meet you girls."

They both continue their giggling and say "You too," at the same time.

"Ready?" He asks, giving my hand a squeeze. I nod. I re-position my purse over my shoulder, then close the door, waving at the girls one last time.

"So, where's that coffee shop you were telling me about?" He asks, letting go of my hand as we walk down the sidewalk.

"Should be a few blocks up straight ahead." I pointed down the street.

The walk was pretty awkward, neither of us really knew what to say. My heart wouldn't stop fluttering. I knew this was just a casual outting between two people who've only ever met once, but it feels like so much more. He held my hand, for starters, and I don't know, This just feels so... natural.

"So, did you like the concert today?" He asks.

"Yeah, but I've gotta admit, yesterday was the first time I've ever heard your music." I said awkwardly.

He chuckles. "Really? You looked like a long-time fan by the way you were freaking out."

My face turns red. He totally thinks I'm weird.

"It was cute." He adds. My stomach fills with butterflies as I smile. "Thanks."

We make our way to the coffee shop, and order ourselves each a drink. He offers to pay, and we sit down at a booth.

"This is so weird." I admit.

"How?"

"I don't know, it feels like a dream. That sounded weird, I'm sorry." I laugh, looking down to my coffee. I see him smirk out of the corner of my eye.

"It feels weird for me too, I guess. I've never hung out with a fan before.."

"I gotta ask, if you've never hung out with a fan before, why are you hanging out with me?" I take another sip of my coffee.

"You just seem... chill. Normal. Not one to scream in my face when I try to talk to you. You're different, you know." He smiles. I smile back.

"Well, thanks."
