Before we knew it, they had finished their show in Dublin and were driving the tour bus to Mullingar for me to meet Niall's family. The rest of the boys were planning on just sleeping and chilling in the tour bus all day while we spent the afternoon at his house. I was changing into a casual dress, so I didn't look like an absolute slob in front of his parents.
Niall told me that his brother, sister-in-law and nephew would be over at the same time as well, since they all attended the show last night in Dublin.
The tour bus slowed to a stop and my heart pounded as Niall took my hand and led me off the bus. His house looked pretty small, but very homey and nice. As we got off the bus, I saw his front door open and standing there was Niall's mother, as well as his little nephew who came running out the door to greet Niall. He was very little, but had a lot of blonde hair flowing in front of his face.
"Hey Theo!" Niall called, picking him up and twirling him around. I smiled at the little boy, who's hand reached out towards mine.
"Hey there, little guy." I said, in my baby voice. The boy giggled.
"Hey." Niall said, looking towards his mother. She was smiling with this proud look on her face.
"Hi Niall." She said, walking out to give her son a big hug.
I stood there smiling, and when they finished hugging, I hugged Maura.
"It's so nice to finally meet you!" I said.
"Same to you, hon. C'mon inside, you two! It's a bit chilly!" So Niall and I, hand-in-hand, followed her inside, and Theo ran behind us.
Inside the house stood Niall's dad, brother, and sister-in-law. I greet and hugged them all, and they all were extremely pleasant.
"Wow," I said. "I've never heard so many Irish accents all at once before."
They all chuckled as they went back to doing what they were doing before.
"Lemme give you a little tour." Whispered Niall, placing his hand on my back. He led me upstairs, then into his bedroom. He immediately sat down on his bed, staring at the walls.
"This is my room," he started. "I haven't been here in... wow, almost two years."
I sat down next to him, closing my eyes and taking in his scent. I loved the sound of his heart beating against his chest, and the way he slowly inhaled and exhaled his breath.
"Your family is lovely." I stated, staring at the wall in front of us. He stood up and grabbed his guitar in the corner of the room, then sat back down and strummed a few strings.
"Yeah, they're pretty great." He said, continuing to strum.
I sat there silently and listened to the music he was playing, watching his fingers as they moved up and down the guitar, playing each string so precisely.
"Niall!" Niall's mom called. "Time for lunch!"
So he placed the guitar on his bed and took my hand, then we walked down the stairs and into his dining room area. We took a seat next to each other and waited for the meal to be served.
"This is so wonderful, all of us here together." Noted Niall's mom, smiling and looking around the table. "And I'll just speak for all of us when I say," she started, glancing at me, "That it's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mia."
I smiled. "It's nice to meet you all too."
Then everyone grabbed a plate of what was on the table, which was chicken, rice, and cooked vegetables. After we all finished, Greg suggested we play some "football," and Niall agreed.
