Chapter Eight

Today was the day of Niall's MRI. We woke up early in the morning since he had to be there by eight, and it was an hour drive. Niall was clearly not in the mood for this. He got out of bed, slumping his way down to the kitchen. I told him that he'll be alright, but he kept saying that he won't be alright, and that this is the end of his entire career, which was obviously not the case at all.

Before we left, I texted Maura, since she's counting on me to update her with all this. Niall would, but she had told me that sometimes he lies just to make her feel better. He doesn't like to worry her with things like this, but I think it's her job to know.

Niall was shaking like a leaf as we hopped in the car. Before starting it, I looked over at him and gave him a quick kiss.

"You'll be fine. Okay?"

He nods, but continues to shake the entire ride there. I know it's not the MRI itself that he's worried about, because that's the easy part. He's worried about what the MRI is going to show. He told me that when he got his surgery last time, he thought that he wouldn't have any more knee problems like this. I'm just hoping he didn't completely re-injure it, because he might need to get another surgery, which would mean no tour for the both of us.

As we arrived to the office that gave the MRI, Niall's face turned as white as a ghost, and he began to bite his nails as he always did when he was nervous. I couldn't help but giggle.

"Babe, promise me you won't shake this much while getting the MRI, it'll mess with the results." I said smiling while shutting off the car.

He continues to bite his nails. We get out of the car and head into the office. There weren't many people in the guest room, just a couple elders, all reading magazines. Niall signed himself in and we took a seat. I held his hand with mine and kept telling him that he'll be fine.

"Niall Horan?" A women calls. Niall continues to hold my hand as we get up together and follow the lady out of the waiting room and down a hall.

"First door on the left." She says, smiling.

Niall nods as he precedes to the door on the left. The only thing in this room were tiny little cupboards and two doors. A man walks into the room and tells Niall to remove anything he had in his pockets, then placed them in one of the cupboard.

"Young lady, I'm afraid you can't go any farther from here. You can go back in the waiting room until he's done." The man said, not taking his eyes off his clipboard.

Niall's eyes soften and the corners of his mouth slowly point down. He began to shake again.

"Good luck, babe." I whisper, waving. "You'll do great." Then I exit the room and head back into the waiting room.

After about 45 minutes, Niall walks back into the waiting room, and immediately runs up to me and gives me a hug.

"How'd you do?" I whisper against his chest.

"Hopefully good. I'll get the results on Sunday."

We head back to the car, hand in hand, then drive back home. I was really starting to get nervous myself now, and I just prayed that what the doctor saw was nothing bad. This would absolutely crush him if he couldn't go on this tour, especially since Zayn isn't in the band anymore. The rest of the boys need Niall.

At home, Niall was watching golf on the television. I received a text from Katherine in the group chat that Anna was also in.

Katherine: Hey girls, let's go out tonight, okay? Maybe sneak into a club or something?

I've never snuck into anything like that before, but I was completely up for it. Katherine is actually older than Anna and I. She's 20, almost 21, so she can totally get Anna and I in easily. Anna looks a bit young for her age, which might be a problem. She's 19, but if she told someone she was 15, they wouldn't question her. I decide to respond back.
