Walking in the neighborhood, thinking about me because many people have told me that I was abnormal, somehow different, but somehow...SPECIAL. I knew I was gifted because I was good at dancing, music and being an archer, but that wasn't it, it was more than that, but what more could I be special at, I mean___

"Anna." Interrupted a voice. It was familiar.

"Josh." I said back. Josh and I have been best friends for ten years; we've known each other since we were six. Now, we were sixteen and Josh always had girls saying how extremely cute he was; he had light blond hair and blue-violet eyes that perfectly matched his face, but I never saw him that way, I mean he was like a brother to me and I didn't think I would ever have a crush on him but___

"What are you doing here?" I continued with my sentence.

"Oh, well, I saw you walking alone in the neighborhood and I wanted to keep you company."

"Oh, thanks but, I want to be alone right now." I said pleadingly because Josh was like a big brother to me, he always wanted me to be safe.

"Whoa. Are you pushing your best friend away?" He asked in a mocking tone; his eyes gently mocking as he had been my life for the past ten years of my life.

''No." I said, thinking I had hurt his feelings. "I just need some solitude." Josh totally knew I was worried I hurt his feelings. My face had always been an 'open book' he had said and so far, it's been proved true.

"I understand, Anna." He said with a quick teasing smile. "I'll come pick you up for practice.'' He looked as if he wasn't sure of leaving me here.

''Bye, Josh.'' I said, turning away from him. I kept walking until I heard something in the bushes. Some people came gliding toward me.

"Are you Annabelle Jolie Claire." The first one asked me. I Had never been terrified in my life. His voice was like icy metal running down your back. Finally, I forced myself to answer.

''Yes'' I responded, trembling.

''Take her away.'' The first one ordered. His followers began to move toward me as I fled.

''HELP!" I shrieked for some desperate hope that Josh had kept watching me and would come to my rescue. I kept running but it was no good as they caught up to me.

''Now, where do you think you are going?" Asked the leader, in a disgustingly mocking tone. He was tall, had gray hair and ugly green eyes. I gasped in pain as he gripped my hair at the scalp. ''Don't worry, you won't feel anything in a few seconds.'' He laughed. It was then I noticed the blindfold in his hands. But before he had time to shove it over my head, I saw the needle filled with the foul looking liquid.

"No...PLEASE, NO." I pleaded. I knew that the liquid would only cause me trouble. One of the followers threw the hood over my head and I felt a stinging sensation in my neck. Suddenly, I was really drowsy and I realized what was in that needle. 'Focus' I told myself but against my will, I went unconscious.

I awoke to find myself in a dark cell. A ray of sunlight filtered through underneath my door, but besides from that, the cell was black. A lump formed in my throat. I thought of my mother, how she was going to react to my disappearance...what about Josh, when he realized I would not be meeting him for practice. Mom...Josh...Home. Suddenly, I heard a voice and quickly leaped up and pressed my ear against the door.

''So, Henri. I heard you've found the mystery girl.''

''Yes, master. I did.'' He sounded proud.

''Good, guard her without fail. She cannot escape.'' It was a different, but dangerous, ice cold voice, which sent shivers down my back.

''Master..." Henri stuttered ''What is the importance of that girl?'' I heard the sound of a blow before the razor sharp voice answered.
