Weird, Awkward

''No, this can't be true.'' I said in shock. "Josh and I have been best friends for years, we've told each other every secret, including dark secrets.''

''Well, you told me he was about to tell you until I showed up.'' Said Alec.

''So, here are your drinks, foods.'' Said the waitress. ''Do you guys need anything else?" She asked, mostly looking at Alec and I knew what she could see; Alec's beauty.

''No. I'll let you know if we need anything.'' Said Alec, looking at me.

'''Ok. Just let me know.'' Said the waitress, trying to find more attention from Alec but left disappointed.

''She was trying to get attention from you.'' I said to Alec.

''Really...hey, can you read her mind?'' Asked Alec.

''I'm not a Mind-Reader.'' I said.

''But you're a Mind-Wisher.'' He said.

''So, you're telling me to wish knowing what's on her mind.''

''Can you do that?''

''I'll try.'' I said. 'I wish to read her mind.' I said two times in my head and suddenly I could hear voices in my head; man, that boy is so HOT, I wish he could be my boyfriend and who's that black girl, his girlfriend, God, I wish he was mine. ''Well.'' I said. ''She's totally interested in you.''

''I know.'' He said.

When we finished eating, we went back to the car, he drove me home. He walked me to my porch. We stopped a little to look eye to eye.

''I'll ask Josh who he loves.'' I said

Alec smiled. ''Annabelle." I looked up and could not believe he was leaning in to kiss me, our lips were an inch apart when the door opened.

''Hey, guys.'' We both looked up to see Josh smirking at us. "Didn't think you guys were here.''

''Hi, Josh. I didn't think you were here." I said.

''Oh, me and your mom were talking.''

''About what?''

''About the girl I've been in love with.''

''What did my mom say?"

''That it'll take time.''

"Whoever it is, you can totally win her heart.''

''I think it's going to be difficult because she already has a boyfriend.''

''Well, do you really love her?''

"Yes."

''If you really love her, don't give up on her.''

"How can I do that if she already likes someone.''

''You just need to romance her.'' I said. "If you finally win her heart, maybe we'll have a double date, right Alec?''

''Right.'' Said Alec, but he gave a 'we'll never have this double date because I'm sure he's in love with you' look and I gave him a 'we don't know that' look.

''Bye, Mrs. Claire.'' Said Josh. ''It was nice to talk to you.'' He turned to me and said, ''Thanks for the advice, but I don't think it will work.'' With that, he crossed the street to go to his house. Before he had a chance to open the door, I yelled.

''Hey, I'll come over to your house later okay.'' He turned his head with a huge smile on his face that made me think maybe Alec was right about Josh's love for me.
