I stand there in place for a few minutes. Did that just happen? I shake my head.

I return to the diner, “They went to Neal’s house.”

Joc says, “I haven’t heard that name in a while.”

I reply softly, “They ran out before I can talk to them.”

Joc says, “It isn’t going to hurt one more day.”

I sign, “I am going to go lay down I have a headache.”

Joc says, “Okay Ilona get some rest.”

Tressa says to him, “Is she okay?”

Joc tells her, “She will be okay.”

I walk back to the house. I freeze seeing Victor. What does he want now?

“I am not in a mood for your shit Victor say your peace and than fuck off.”  He smiles and replies, “Hello whore.”

I roll my eyes and say, “Is that all than goodbye.”

I turn away and take a step backwards. He back hands me. I let an off out as I hit the tree. I gasp for air. I am holding my side. I get up from the ground. My legs want to give out due to the pain.

He yells at me, “He should had killed you! Humans are not worthy of knowing about us!”

I tell him, “I have never done anything to you. I have tried to help you get back in. Your behavior just sealed your fate.”

He slaps me again. I fly and roll to the front porch steps. I touch my head. I am bleeding. I stay down this time as spots begin to fill my version. He walks towards me.

I plead with him, “Please stop.”

Suddenly Maddox tosses him from me. Victor hits the ground hard. Maddox roars at him. Victor is flat on the ground baring his neck to Maddox. I move a little and cry out in pain. Maddox gives control over to Michael.

Michael lifts me into his arms, “Ilona.”

“Stay awake Ilona.” Michael voice sounds panicky.

I reach for his face, “I…”

“Ilona, stay awake.” I shut my eyes.

I pass out from the injuries. I am sleeping. I hear voices arguing. I can hear a beeping sound. What is it? What is going on? I groan my head is hurting.

“Ilona.” I am blinking shaking my head a bit, “Hey.”

Zac says, “You should have brought me with you. I would have killed him for hurting her.”

Maddox says while growling, “Stand down.”

I gasp in pain, “Little one.”

I speak softly, “Maddox please don’t yell at Zac.”

Maddox lays their head by me, “I should had killed him.”

I give him a small smile, “I am sorry.”

Maddox says, “You are not at fault little one.”

I tell them, “Joc will be worried about me.”

Zac gets what I am saying, “I had told Joc what had happened. He says to get better he is taking care of things there.”

Meaning Joc told the boys I got jump by a group of people. I am in the hospital and they can’t come see me due to the fact they aren’t eighteen and I wouldn’t want them to see me like that.

I whisper it, “I was too weak to fight him.”

Maddox jerks my face to his, “Never say anything like that again.”
