Percy's recovery was faster than expected, the ambrosia and nectar the Apollo kids had given her really did its trick. Within a week, she was off the bed, walking around the hospital. Will Solace, the head of the Apollo cabin, had revealed to Percy that the hospital where she was at was partially run by a former demigod counselor. Well, that would explain how no one questioned it when they brought her in for treatment. She stayed in the hospital for a few more days so that the doctors can make sure she's all good.
When the day came for Percy to leave, Dick came to pick her up from the hospital. He walked in to see Percy on the phone with someone, possibly her assistant - Dila.
"Yes, yes, I understand." She was saying, gazing out the window. "I know it's a lot for you and Nico to take care of while I'm gone, but I assure you I'll be back to work soon."
Dick walked in silently, trying not to disturb her. The sun was shining bright outside and the light from it cast a cozy glow around the young woman, making her raven-dark hair turn brownish in the sunshine.
Beautiful. He thought with a smile.
"...Alright, I'll leave you to your work then, call me if you have any trouble. Bye." The girl hangs up on the phone.
Dick took that as a cue for him to finally make his presence known to the daughter of Poseidon. He stepped forward and gently wrapped his arms around Percy's thin waist, pulling her into him as her fresh ocean scent surrounded him.
"Hey," Percy said, smiling as she leaned her head back against the man's chest.
Dick responded by planting a kiss on the top of her head. "Hello Beautiful, are you ready to go?"
"Just about," She answered, turning around to kiss him on the lips. "Thanks for coming."
Dick's eyes were full of love and affection. "I still can't believe this is real, please tell me this is not a dream..." The daughter of Poseidon laughed lightly at his response.
"Come one, Boy Wonder, I've spent enough time in this hospital and I want to enjoy the fresh air again."
It felt like an eternity had passed before Percy was able to enjoy the sunshine and the wind again. Walking along the streets of D.C, as the hospital was located not far from the now ruined Hall of Justice, which Percy had no desire to see again just yet, the busy sidewalk was almost a refreshing sight compared to the quiet hospital room.
Dick reached out a hand and laced their fingers together hesitantly. Percy was only stunned for a moment or two before a wide smile broke out on her face. A warm feeling she hadn't felt in seven years spread across her whole body, warming her right down to the bone.
They turned to a corner and made their way to an abandoned little alley and stopped right in front of an old, rundown photo booth.
"Where to?" Dick asked, stepping inside as the computer reared to life.
"Home," The girl answered.
"Oceania Aquarium?" Percy laughed.
"No, our home." Was the daughter of Poseidon's answer. "I...missed it, I miss the people there, the musty old scent of the manor, the creaking floorboards of the bottom steps, and the clanking of Alfred's cooking pan." A wistful smile spread across her face.
"It's not the same, visiting the place as a total stranger, under a different persona." She looked down at her shoes, wondering how the family would react to her being there.
Dick seemed to have sensed her anxiety, he squeezed her hand comfortingly. "I'm glad you decided to go back, we missed you, every one of us. And you have no idea how much the others are looking forward to meeting you officially for the first time." He kissed the girl's cheek, feeling her posture relaxed ever so slightly. He typed in the code for their destination and the zeta-tube lit up.
