The Chihuahua's Warning

Teli POV:

I sat down in class, waiting for it to start as I ate some pretzels Beel decided to share with me. I guess the sweet boy felt bad for the way he acted last night. It would also explain why he covered my eyes when Lucifer went in on Mammon.

As I was eating, I could hear two demons gossiping somewhere nearby.

"Did you hear the news? Apparently that human forged a pact with Mammon." Demon A said, making me smirk.

"Seriously? I don't get it. Why forge a pact with an ordinary human?" Demon B asked.

"Because I'm indespicably adoreable." I repeated quietly what I said to Levi when he asked the same thing, letting out a chuckle as I took another bite from the pretzel.

"Huh. Whenever you make an important announcement, the demons here couldn't care less. But rumors... they really do spread like wildfire." I jerked forward as I chocked on the bite in my mouth because of a new, very close, sudden voice behind me.

Putting a hand on my chest, I turned my head to see a man with green-teal hair and droppy green eyes talking to Diavolo and Lucifer.

His all demeanor screamed one thing: Butler!

"Just when I thought the uproar about the new exchange student from the human world had started to subside some, now they're all freaking out about this." He sighed, looking at me.

Hey, you don't know that! They could be talking about Solomon too for all we know! Although he probably didn't forge a pact with Mammon on the first day.

But seriously, there are TWO human students here!

"Come now, don't say that, Barbatos." Diavolo said to the man as the three of them made their way towards me, "Actually, I'd say that all this gossip is a good thing. It means that everyone will be watching this human, which makes it hard for any demon to go after Teli's soul when no one is looking."

"Yes. Since Mammon's not doing a very good job as a guardian." Lucifer sighed, "I told him to look after Talia, but he's off somewhere shirking his responsibilities. Though I figured this would happen."

"I must say, I can't believe you managed to forge a pact with Mammon, Talia. That's no small feat. And what's more, you did it in such a short time. Oh! And I like what you've done with your hair, by the way." Diavolo complimented and I saluted him with two fingers in return.

"I suppose it stands as a proof that you chose well bringing this human here, Lord Diavolo." I think Diavolo said his name was ''Barbatos'', said.

"Who're you?" I asked the man in cuiousity.

"...Ah yes, pardon me. I suppose we haven't met before, have we? My name is Barbatos. I apologize for not introducing myself sooner. I have the honor of serving as steward to Lord Diavolo. Pleased to make your acquaintance." The man said.

"It's okay, Barbatos. Nice to meet you, I'm Talia, but everyone except Lucifer just calls me Teli." I said, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you as well, Talia." He nodded.

"And now you too, I guess." I said as we pulled our hands away and I went back to my pretzels.

"Barbatos here is a smart and talented individual, so much so that I wish I could trade a certain idiot brother of mine for him instead." Lucifer sighed.

"Well, as for your brother, in the human world, it is sometimes said that a truely wise man does not flaunt his his talents. He keeps them secret." Barbatos reassured.

"Yes, but I'll be honest: Mammon is niether human, nor knows how to keep a secret, and definitely not wise." I pointed out, taking a bite off my pretzel.
