1942 (past)

Venus had always been wanting to crack Tom Riddle. She knew there was some dark past about his and she knows what she can do about it, it was near the end of term and their bickering didn't stop. Everyone was sick and tired of it. All year they get the same rambling on who was right and who was wrong, even gave the teachers a headache. But tomorrow they get their end of year exam papers back and she knew Tom was eager to beat her.

She went to the library and waited for Tom to work on their Potions homework on the Polyjuice Potion. She knew this was a way to try and get inside the mind and heart of Tom. If he had any of course. She sat next to a bookshelf slightly scanning for new books to read because she had already read at least every book five times. She looked to the darkest part of the library, the restricted section. She never even dared to go in there but she felt the urge to read a new book. So she noticed the door to it was unlocked. Which was odd, she opened the creepy door and started looking for a book. She then heard footsteps behind her as she turned around scanning the darkness. She ran into one of the aisles of books. Her back hit the some of the books and let them fall to the floor. She heard the same footsteps come closer. She got her wand out

'Lumos' she said quickly and waved it around. She turned and a taunting face of Tom Riddle was staring next to her. She screamed, only for a short period of time

'Tom what the hell?! That was creepy and what are you doing here?!' Venus put her light to his face

He looked at her, she knew something was up.

'I was in search of a book, a new one. You?' He said emotionless

What Tom Riddle not being mean?! Is he on drugs

'Tom, I know there's something up, what are you planning.' Venus eyed him

He was about to open his mouth but he pulled her into his chest. What was he doing, Venus tried to squirm but it didn't help. We heard Professor Diggory look around

'Whoever is in here show yourselves!' Diggory shouted, Venus knew he had a lantern

Apart of Venus wanted to move away from Tom but she liked his touch. Finally she pulled away.

'What on Merlins earth are you doing, Ravenclaw? Get back here!' He hissed

'Saving our lives' Venus grabbed a book off the floor and threw it over the other side of the restricted section. It made a noise. Venus peeped her head out of the aisle to see Professor Diggory walk towards where the book had landed. She then grabbed Tom's ice cold hand without hesitation and a book from the floor, they both ran out.

'A thank you would be nice' Venus asked

'Thank you....Venus' he didn't catch her eyes

Now in her life she had never heard of a 'thank you' or him saying her name before. It was always 'this is your fault' or 'can you go away'.

'Well, we should be getting on with Slughorn's homework' Venus said

She saw Tom actually not fight back. What was this?! He immediately started scanning the bookshelves until he heard a laugh

'I have it here, silly' Venus smirked holding the book about potions

'Give it here, Ravenclaw' he looked at her coldly

'No can do. I'm just smarter to find the book before you,Riddle' she teased

'Oh you little—' he said starting to chase her

She held the book over her head and ran with it

'You can't catch me!' She cackled

'Watch me' he smirked
