I was thinking; the sun did like blowing up on Wednesdays. I knew it! I was melting down like a popsicle.
"I earned this," Mike said. He was giving his best shot to annoy Kyle again. I figured annoying people were his hobby. He was good at it, but it didn't work on me. Neither Kyle.
"You've got a panda stuck on your arm," Kyle said. He flipped his hoverboard, and for a split second, he was hovering above the ground.
The trees made it hard to keep steady. Every inch was crucial.
Mickey rubbed his forehead after it hit on a bush.
If you don't want to get hit by a bush.
"Destiny gave me this," Mike eyed me.
I nodded.
"Pfft," Kyle smirked. "Some magic trick,"
"Hey! Not everyone gets free panda stickers these days," Mike snapped, nearly losing his balance. "Besides, you haven't even got one. You're jealous,"
Kyle scoffed.
Mike smiled, as if thinking he won.
I looked at Kyle. He was hovering over with his hair catching the wind. I liked to see Kyle covered in panda stickers. I was smirking when he caught my eyes.
He narrowed his eyes. "Don't even think about it,"
I innocently smiled and unfolded the sticker card from my bag. I shot him a look. "Beware,"
Kyle looked disgusted.
I set my eyes ahead, and let the hoverboard fly in regular speed. The field looked lifeless, just as before. There was nothing here. The sky was clear. The sun shone so brightly, that was hard to gaze up to sort out what the clouds were shape-shifting too. But if I did look up, I had a strange feeling I'd see a corpse, so I decided to pass.
My entire body was still shaking. It was like anytime now, something terrible is going to happen. My heart would rise sometimes. Then it would go back to normal again. Misty would've called it heart uprising disorder. Remembering her passed chills down my spine. She was so happy about three days ago. But now, she was all alone in another planet, having no one to call her own....
I wondered what mom and dad was doing. At least they were safe. They're not even yours.
I frowned, irritated. This was not the time. How can I afford to believe that the people, who I always thought that were mine, could not be all of a sudden? They'd never made me feel like a outsider. But if this was true..., things would never be the same.
As I scanned ahead, my vision was blurrier.
I felt a hand on my shoulder. "You alright?"
I looked at Mike. He was frowning, his lips forming a hard line.
"No," I said. "I'm not alright." I fiddled with my necklace. The metal was warm. Tears were burning and stinging inside my eyes. "It's scary," my voice was lower than I wanted to make it.
Mike's hand was tight around my shoulders.
"Maybe we should get you a break, Destiny." Kyle said. His eyes were sparkling in the sunlight.
"No," I said, wiping my tears instantly from the back of my hand. "I'm fine," I balanced myself on the hoverboard again. "Misty...." I said, almost absent-mindedly. I glanced sideways at the boys. "We need to move on,"
Kyle looked at the sky. He shook his head. "Are you sure?" he eyed at me.
It was that feeling, when you don't want to be happy..., you want to be moody, but then that one person persuades you to smile.
