"Kyle," Devon spoke first. He was sneering. "You look bed ridden."
"Devon," Kyle smiled and tugged at his sleeve. "You're looking fine as a radish,"
Devon's eyes widened, and he straightened.
But Kyle spoke; "Sir," he looked at Insider. "We might want a word with you,"
"Goodness boy," The Martian ruler said. "You can't burst in and ask for a private time during the" he glared at Insider. "THE ECLIPSE MEETING,"
I wanted to snap his bald head to two. He wanted the galaxy for himself that entirely was selfish and now, for that, he planned to kill millions of people. How could he even think about something like that?
"Dove!" Insider yelped.
I ducked to the ground. "Where?"
"No," Insider said. "That's my daughter," he stood up. "Dove!"
Dove?
I touched my necklace. Oh wow....I was a birdie. I slowly stood up brushing off my coat for no reason. Everyone was staring at me. And dad looked like he was about cry. His mouth was half-open and he just stared at me.
"Dad," I said, and something had me there. I wanted to cry out so loud. My heart ached. I wanted to give him a good hug. After all these years, I'd found my real dad.
My eyes were watering so I looked at my shoes.
"Kyle," He said. "That-"
"Your daughter," Kyle kept a hand on my shoulder.
"So-" Insider shifted his glance at me. "She is Dove?"
Kyle nodded.
Insider muttered something under his breath.
The ruler of Luna- who happens to be my uncle- had his jaw falling off. He exchanged looks with his son. "But how-" he started.
"She survived," Kyle shrugged. "Fifteen years ago. The reports were true,"
I kept tangling my fingers with the necklace while silence rang in my ears. I knew everyone was looking at me- my family, was looking at me. But I dropped my hands into my pocket and looked up at the Martian ruler.
"We have unfinished business," I said.
I swear I saw him sweat.
"I have what you need," I said, pulling out the tube and showing it.
The council gasped.
"What- what is that?" Insider asked, sitting down.
Silence.
Spielberg looked bored. He eyed the tube of purple liquid like it was just a toy.
"Lord knows," Devon said. He looked at me grimly.
"Lies," I said. I looked at Insider, my insides burning. "This is the anti-dote,"
His lips parted.
There was a series of gasps.
"The anti-dote as in?" Insider shook his head. "The anti-dote to the disease? The virus outbreak?"
"Yes," I said, trying to make my voice steady as possible.
"And how....?" Insider gazed at Spielberg and narrowed his eyes.
"They did it," Kyle said. "They made the disease. It's a biological weapon,"
Insider stared at the Martians.
