"Are you sure you want to do this?" Legacy asked for the 10th time today
I took a deep breath letting out a heavy sigh.
" I got you if you need anything. Yk that right" he said reassuringly
I just nodded
"L&A we on our way" He said with a goofy grin
"Stop being weird" I said smirking at his goofyness
"L&A WE ON OUR WAY L&A We On Our Way L&a We On Our WAY" he chanted loudly as we sat in his car out side of the courthouse
"Stop they gone hear you" I laughed out
"I'm just say CHI-TOWN ain't gone know what hit em when we come through" he said as if he was Envisioning this master plan he conjured up.
"It's time" I go to open the door when he stopped me
"I got it" he went around to the door and opened it for me
"Hey" he said to me as I got out the car. "When you get in there I want you to remember something" he said in a serious tone
"Yeah, what?" I asked
" L&A we on our way" he said showing that goofy grin again
"Cornball" I laughed as I entered the building saying a quick prayer before entering the building.
Keyanni
I'm fuming I just got a letter a week ago saying that Darius' mother is fighting for custody of my kids, Keiko is in jail for a conspiracy charge and now today that Arabian has petition the courts for emancipation. I swear the more I try the worst it get. Being in rehab is like a vacay for me. I miss my Vices and it's been the longest few months of my life. I'm always on edge and sweat like crazy.
It was almost time to go to the REC center, but I'm just not feeling it today. After all this mess I just need a break. I rolled over in my bed and tuck myself in the covers
Not even 5 minutes late my Mentor came in all happy go lucky if you asked me they on drugs too. They just happy to know there gone be more drugs for them once we clean.
" Ms. Keyanni it's rec time." She said
" I'm good on that." I said
"You sure?" She asked
"Yeah Im sure" with that she left out the room.
" Mane I can't wait to leave this place." I thought out loud." Imma got to the TV room... After this nap."
I laid back down dozing off
15 MINS LATER
I was awaken to the sound of screams. Women were running frantically towards all the doors and windows. Then I heard it a loud bang.
Gunshots?
I wiped the crust from my eyes.
Wtf I thought who would shoot up a rehab. I got under my bed. As I saw bodies hit the ground. There was blood everywhere. I hid for what felt like forever when the shots finally stopped I could hear sirens.
Saved the they mf cops I thought to myself
I peeped out to make sure it was safe then got from under the bed. There cops were all over the place. one was checking for a pulse. "Freeze" another yelled. I put my hands up. As they started asking questions.
" No she lives here." My mentor said walking up to me then puling me outside where the others were.
"What happened?" I asked
" Three men came and attacked the place. 13 women died" she said no longer sporting that cringy smile
" For what?" I asked
Just then the police man came out carrying a body
" Is there a Keyanni here?" The officer asked.
I raised my hand confused. He pulled me to the side. When he began to explain what happened my eyes bulged out of my head
" What do you mean they were here for me?" I nearly yelled
" We'll explain everything in the morning but there are two men. Armed and dangerous on the loose looking for you. We'll have to bring you to the station over night too see if you can help us bring these men down." He said
I swallowed hard. Why me? Why now?
