Shit that I'm dealing with as of lately make regular people crazy
Accepting of kind gestures then later they'll want a favor
Lames in the dead lane saw I was destined for greatness
Everybody runs games, just peep it don't let them game you
Now give them what they expect they all find a reason to hate you

Kevin Gates - reasonable suspicion

Keyanni (the mom) POV

I'd just gotten out of rehab and my mind was going a thousand miles per hour. I had to go court about this custody hearing then to Keikos. Due to my not having a job stable income and now no safe place to live, I knew I was about to loss this custody hearing.

" This is way too much." I sighed.

I sat at the bus stop waiting for the bus to arrive. I couldn't wait to get home.

I finally got to my apartment building. Walking pass drug addicts and prostitutes. All my memories hit me at once. I approached the door seeing an eviction notice on my door.

I entered the apartment

I entered the apartment. It reeked of liquor stale food and weed. I flick the light switch realizing my lights were off. I sighed heading to the bathroom to shower. "What's next" I asked myself as the water flowed down my body. I showered til the water got cold. Then got out applying deodorant and lotion and wrapping up in a towel.

I headed to my room as my mind roamed. I grabbed my door knob walking into my room and stopping dead in my tracks.
"Are you serious right now. What are you doing here" I asked

"Just waiting for you." He said pulling out a gun "sit" he said pointing at the bed. I did as I was told

"Darius l-listen I didn't mean to get you locked up" he nodded his head slowly as he screwed on a silencer " I- I'm sorry. I didn't mean for things to go like this." I continued

" All's forgiven." he said. his face showed no visible emotion.
"Well why are you here" I said shakily
He pulled out some paperwork.
"Sigh every sheet and you free. Try some funny shit and I'll pop up and send you straight down the river." He said in a serious tone.
I grabbed the papers. "What are these for?" I asked

"Custody. Sign it" he said playing with the silencer.

"What? No I'm not signing this. Those are my ki-" I was cut off but the sound of him cocking the gun.

" Dead or alive. Imma get custody one way or the other. You choose." He growled lowly pointed the gun at me.

I began signing the papers as tears rolled down my eyes.

"See now that wasn't so bad now was it? Nice doing business with you" he said grabbing the papers as and leaving out the room.

as he left I hurry to close the door. sit in front of the door insuring he couldn't return. I sat there thinking  about the mistakes that lead me here. finally I decided to make the call.

" hello" the strong yet comforting voice said to me

" I need your help" I said

ARABIAN POV

the room was spinning so fast as the jury member stood there.

"Guilty on all charges" rung through my head like a ring bell. .

The judge ordered everyone to stand.
"Keiko Darius Carter you have been found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime. Do you object to these charges?"

"No your honor" he said looking down my heart broke

" Council men?" He asked the lawyer

"No your honor" he said

" Well if there's no objections I hear by sentence you, Keiko Darius Carter to  a sentence not to exceed ten years with a chance of parole after 4." He banged the gavel ending all hopes for a lighter sentencing.

" Court's dismiss" he said as everyone raised to leave

"And this the type of guy you're messing with" I heard from behind me. I turned to see Kyrah and what I'm assuming is her mother.

"Ma"
She was cut off by the woman semi telling. The courtroom was fairly empty at this point, but the tension made it full otherwise.

" You let that nearly got your father locked up." She said with anger beaming through her voice.

" Ma that's not fair h-" Kyrah started when she made eye contact with me. "Ma can we just go?" She asked looking down.

" He what?" She said " didn't mean to. What he's nothing but trouble."

" Chill" I said stepping

"Umm sweetie I'm not talking to you I'm talking to My 13 year old daughter." She dismissed me

" But you talking shit bout my 13 year old brother."

" Keep yo thug on a leash and I got mines" she said walking to the door
"Kyrah. Get your stuff and come on" her mom said

"Kyrah" I said " here" I said handing her a small slip of paper with my phone number on it "call me if you need anything"

"BRING YO ASS GIRL" Her mom yelled getting impatient. She left without another word.

I left out the courthouse and looked around for Legacy's car but spotted my grandma struggling to strap in Kanni and King.

"Mind if I help?" I asked strapping them in

" Arabian" they screamed hugging me
" Why are you here?" Granny asked looking purely disgusted

" This is still my family" I said not making eye contact

" Don't seem like it you went and got emancipated and moved hours away with that lil boy while I'm here struggling with them two" she said

" You told me not to come back." I said looking at her like she grew an extra head

" But that ain't stop you from popping up on them at daycare buying junk food and sneaking them to amusement parks and stuff now does it." She said

" What do you want from me?" I asked

She just looked at me like I just slapped her. "So disrespectful" she said

" My rides here I gotta go" said walking away. I hopped in letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding

" What happened?" Legacy asked smiling innocently

I took a deep breath the began to explain everything to him.

" Dang shawty you done had a day" he said

" What did I tell you bout calling me that I'm 5'9 that's not short" I said knowing he tryna be funny

He did a small laugh then continued to talk "nah but that's messed up for real. You tryna go get some food?" He asked

"Nah we can order some to the room. I'm tired" I said sinking into the seat thanking of the day I've had.

"This gone be a long ride " he asked as we got on the highway going to the hotel.

" Amen" I said falling asleep in the seat
