After running off from Levi I went back inside. I think it would be best to go speak to Hange. I left things in a bad way and I don't want that to end up ruining how well we work together.
"Hange it's me y/n" I said knocking on her door. Within a second it opened to reveal a what looked to be worked up Hange. She had bloodshot eyes and her glasses were slightly out of place, as was her hair.
"Hey, hey, it's alright." I said quickly pushing passed her slightly to gently pull her to the sofa.
"What do you mean I'm fine." She said sniffing slightly half way through her sentence. We both sat down on the sofa.
"You don't look it." I said worry lacing my voice.
"Honestly I'm fine. Well now I am at least. I thought I'd really fucked up and you had left me too." I felt really bad for storming out of her room now.
"No, no, you did nothing wrong I'm sorry. I got a little mad and made a bigger deal out of it than it actually was." I stared at the floor.
"It's fine its happened now. Are we ok now though?" I could tell she was scared I would burst out again.
"Yeah, we're good." I gave her a small smile.
"It's late though so I think I should probably go and leave you to get some sleep." I smiled and got up to leave. Hange opened her mouth as if to say something but closed it before any words could get out.
I gave her one last glance before I turned fully and left the room.
I started walking towards the other side of the building. My room was the complete opposite side of the building to Hange's.
It only took a minuet and I was in my room stripping off my jacket and boots ready to get into bed. I was halfway done unbuttoning the white shirt I wore with my uniform when the captain desided it was a good time to walk in and knock my door at the same time.
"I-I'm sorry I'll just w-wait outside." He stuttered over his words after seeing my half dressed in the middle of my room. After he closed the door behind him I buttoned the shirt back up and put my boots on.
I opened the door to see a slightly flustered Levi leaning up against the wall outside my quarters.
"So um Captain..." I trailed off blushing slightly myself. He just walked in on me fucking undressing how am I so calm about this. Well I can't just flip out on him he's my captain I would be cleaning for months maybe even years.
"I'm sorry to walk in on you like that. I thought you would be up reading like you usually are." Levi had often come to see what I was reading so he could borrow the book after I had given it my approval. He enjoyed reading just as much as I did. We had bonded slightly over that. As much as you can bond with a stoic stone-faced captain. He first found me reading in the training area just after dark whilst out on one of his late night walks. I told him he could stop by my room any time to find a book that might take his interest.
We never really talked outside of exchanging books except for recently. He seemed to be getting closer and closer to me as the days went by. Even with this he was still my Captain and I never bothered to make small talk or get to know him. Once you loose enough people through this line of work you quickly learn to never get attached.
"It's alright Captain. I-" Before I could finish my sentence he cut me off.
"Right, sorry again I'll be off now." And with that he walked away leaving me in the dark hallway alone with the embarrassment of what had just happened. God damn it how am I going to face him tomorrow?
