As we were walking down the corridor Hange began droning on about Titans and how Eren is going to be a wonderful test subject, I mostly ignored her words.
"Levi's going to have a stroke! I just hope he isn't hard on you for letting me come back with you." Hange had cheered up a little since we had left her office.
"Wait, what?! Hes going to yell at me! Oh god I'm done for, I'll be cleaning until I die!" I whined a little scared about how hes going to react to Hange being with me. She could have mentioned, before I agreed to let her tag along, that it would be the end of my career as a scout and the start of my career as a cleaner.
I let out a loud sigh as we reached the captains office.
"Ay cheer up a little you'll be finee!!" She said smiling. I let a little smile cross my face before i knocked on the door.
"Y/n? Are you back alre..." The captain had given us permission to enter.
"Four-eyes what are you doing with y/n?" He let out a grumble of disapproval.
"Well you sent me a letter so... I came to reply!" The conversation was back and fourth for a little bit until I saluted.
"Sir may I be dismissed?"
"No, take a seat." I was taken back by his response I would've thought he would want me to leave so he could speak to Hange in private.
"You to four-eyes." He sighed again and stood from his desk to lean against the front of it. Me and Hange found a seat and sat ready to listen to what he has to say.
"Well? You came here to reply to that letter didn't you?" The captain said.
"Ah yes! Well I feel that with the overwhelming amount of new information I need an assistant! And also your letter telling me to start cleaning my own space and well.." she paused and looked over at me, "And other things, is ridiculous. If I clean I won't be able to find the important stuff and well the other thing is none of your business."
"Hange your office looks like a dump." Levi interjected quickly. "And to add to that, your pretty much killing yourself. I went through it as well so let me help you." I don't think I've ever seen the captain be show so much emotion.
"Levi I'm fine my office is fine! Stop trying to get involved with my problems!" Hange raised her voice to just below a shout.
"Y/n, what do you think. Does your squad leader's office meet basic standards?" He asked looking at me. My mind went straight to the empty bottles on her window ledge. I looked up from the floor to meet eyes with both of them.
"Um I'm not sure how to answer that." I replied honestly.
"Fine, I'm calling Erwin over about that assistant. Also, please Hange try, don't just give in to it." Levi's voice was coated with worry and concern.
Perhaps they're talking about Hange's drinking it does seem like a problem but it's completely new to see the captain with so much emotion.
