prologue

"God fucking dangit! Why did the Park Yeonghwa break up with me!" Chaewon was sobbing on the couch with her hands crossed together and head down. "What did I even do wrong? I showered him with all my love just fine and then he suddenly comes up one day telling me we're through."

FLASHBACK

Chaewon parted ways as usual with Jaehyun before he starts doing something stupid right after he parked his car at the university parking lot.

Chaewon then skipped into the building happily to her boyfriend's locker, knowing another day would be as great as the other days.

She smiles as she sees him getting his books from his locker, getting ready to walk with him to his class.

"Hey Yeonghwa! What's up?" Chaewon walked up her boyfriend as he gave her a stern look looking around as they were in the middle of the hallway of Yonsei University.

"Chaewon, I think we should break up." Yeonghwa spoke softly.

"What-why? Is it because my brother's basketball team too intimidating? I get they're competitive...or is it because my friends are bothering you what's the-"

"I just...don't love you anymore Chaewon. I'm sorry." Yeonghwa interrupted her as Chaewon stood there with her mouth agape.

"You...what?" Chaewon let out a loud whisper as her voice was trembling, hoping that she was hearing things from Yeonghwa.

Yeonghwa took a deep breath and looked at her straight in the eye. "I don't love you anymore. I love someone else."

Yeonghwa then closed his locker and left Chaewon in the middle of the bustling hallway with many students.

Just like that.

END OF FLASHBACK

Chaewon was in the shared apartment of her and her twin brother Jaehyun while her best friend Lanying was sitting next to Chaewon on the floor, rubbing her back in circles, as Lanying watched Chaewon cry all of her heart out.

"I don't think he's simply worth going back to. If he said he loves someone else, then it seems like he had someone else on his mind while you two were dating. Think about it Chaewon." Lanying spoke up as Chaewon lifted her head giving an unreadable emotion.

Chaewon knew Lanying was right, but it was hard to accept the truth.

"It really sucks Lanying. It really sucks." Chaewon whimpered as she dried her tears with her arms. "How did you have a relationship with Winwin even when you two are both studying in Korea, going through all these hardships and still make it work? I could never."

"I know it really sucks love." Lanying patted Chaewon's head, giving her a slight smiles. "Girl, me and Winwin have nothing to do with this although I do appreciate your efforts to remember the small details about me. I do love you which is why I'm still here." Lanying chuckled as she was happy to be with her.

"I love you too. I couldn't ask for a better best friend." Chaewon hugged Lanying as Lanying reciprocated the hug back.

The girls broke the hug as Lanying spoke again, looking at Chaewon with her worried looks. "We need to focus on you now, Chaewon. You just got out of a relationship and you can't cry about him forever."

"What can I do to get over Yeonghwa? We had a relationship for a solid 10 months and 19 days. I've never been that committed especially since he was my first one ever!" Chaewon's tone started to get louder as Lanying widened her eyes.

"I'm sorry Lanying." Chaewon then lied on the floor.

Just then Chaewon's phone buzzed as a notification from her Instagram had shown up showing a new post with Yeonghwa.

Chaewon's phone widened as the post showed a picture of Yeonghwa and one of the school's biggest bitches Choi Heejin.

"He left me for her?" Chaewon's eyes start to water again as Lanying took Chaewon's phone away from her.

"Nope, we're blocking him so you will never contact that boy ever again." Lanying pushed some buttons and handed the phone to Chaewon as Lanying grabbed some tissues to wipe Chaewon's new tears.

"Now I have to deal with that when we go back next week! Ugh this is so annoying!" Chaewon threw the tissue box across the floor.

Lanying placed a finger on her chin, a smirk forming on her lips. "Do you want to happen to have some revenge on this guy?"

Chaewon lifted up her body from the floor to make eye contact with Lanying. "Re-revenge?"

Lanying then placed her fingers under Chaewon's chin as she saw her best friend's misery, wanting the best for her happiness.

Lanying's solution wasn't the best way, but she knew it would be something Chaewon could possible agree to, especially since she's the twin sister of the popular Jung Jaehyun.

"How about a fake dating contract?"
