Chaewon and Doyoung had finished getting flowers from the flower shop and now they were at the grace of Chaewon's mother, Jung Sowon.
Chaewon bent down, placing the flowers on her mother's grave while Doyoung watched her.
Doyoung looked at the name, Jung Sowon. It felt like he heard it somewhere before.
"Eomma? How is it like up there?" Chaewon's tears started flowing down her face. "It's terrible down here. I miss you."
Doyoung felt like his heart just shattered for a second, seeing a side that he had never seen before out of Chaewon.
He sat down next to her, rubbed her back in circles and watched her sending some words to her mother.
"Dad doesn't treat me like a real father anymore. If you were here it would've been a lot better." Chaewon continued on. "I know you told him to move on, but honestly his new marriage life made me invisible to his eyes and I don't know why."
Chaewon then placed her hand on Doyoung's hand. "But that's okay, I already found someone, his name is Kim Doyoung. He's my boyfriend. He's pretty great and he's been there to listen to me while dad didn't. I got into a fight with Jaehyun the other day so that's why I'm here."
Doyoung's eyes widen, wondering what Chaewon said was real or fake, but he let it pass through his mind. He wiped Chaewon's tears with his hands, seeing Chaewon gesturing him to talk to her mother.
"Hello, Mrs. Jung, or Eomma, whatever you want me to call you. I want to let you know that Chaewon will be in great hands. Chaewon is a really strong girl and I'm glad I'm able to find someone like her." Doyoung spoke to Mrs. Jung's grave.
Chaewon pulled Doyoung into a hug, mouthing a 'thank you'. Doyoung mouthed 'you're welcome' and continued to rub her back in circles to calm her down.
After Chaewon stopped crying, Doyoung took a peek at her face, making sure she was okay.
"Are you ready to go?" Doyoung softly asked the girl.
"Yes. I'm ready to go." Chaewon got up from the ground as Doyoung did the same.
-
Chaewon and Doyoung were in Doyoung's room, back home from seeing Chaewon's mother. Doyoung was at his desk scrolling through websites to look for more K-Drama's to watch while Chaewon was laying on Doyoung's bed, casually looking at the ceiling.
"My mother was a model." Chaewon suddenly spurred out, gaining the attention of the guy. "But she never revealed her personal life despite being quiet popular."
Doyoung then typed up Jung Sowon into the web and there she was, a very popular model in Korea who died 6 years ago.
He placed the pieces together knowing that Chaewon was currently 21 and Jaehyun said Chaewon lost it at age 15.
That's it! Chaewon's life turned upside down when her mother died and that's the cause of our enemy relationship to begin with!
"I've heard about your mother." Doyoung turned around with his spinning chair. "My mother praises your mother when she was still in her modeling career. She was a big fan."
"Really?" Chaewon got up from the bed, sitting down. "Then how come your mother didn't recognize me."
Doyoung chuckled at her dumbfounded response. "You said she never revealed about her personal life silly. That's why no one knows that you and Jaehyun are her children. She probably didn't want you guys to have sasaengs."
Chaewon slumped back onto her bed, muffling softly with a tint of sadness. "Right..."
Doyoung noticed her change in tone thinking of a way to make her feel better. "Your mother still cares about you. Even though you might think she's gone, she's still watching over you wanting to see you make your life to the fullest."
Chaewon smiled at his statement, turning her head towards him. "Thank you."
There was a moment of silence for quite some time as Doyoung went back onto his computer, scrolling though random things, having a couple thoughts of his mind.
"How come you don't model yourself?" Doyoung asked Chaewon.
"Jaehyun and I used to be child models, but just like you, we weren't confident enough to go into the industry." Chaewon responded. "So we found different passions instead."
Another silence has passed, with another question in Doyoung's mind.
"How is your family situation right now?" Doyoung asked.
Chaewon sighed. "My dad got married to my step mother 2 years later and they work 24.7. I don't mind it at all. My dad changed and suddenly favors Jaehyun while my step mother is just there. If my mother was still alive, she would've kept my dad in control."
Doyoung listened to every word she said understanding where her brokenness comes from. A smile formed up on his face as he turned around again.
"How about we go take a walk?"
-
Just like last time, Chaewon and Doyoung walked in silence. They eventually came to a stopping point, where Doyoung decided to sit on the ledge of a river.
Chaewon followed his actions and sat next to him, latching her arms with him and placing her head on his shoulders.
"I guess you enjoy these walks as much as I do." Chaewon pinched his cheeks.
Doyoung made a weird face when Chaewon pinched his cheeks. "They're very nice and calming. And ouch, that hurts."
Chaewon giggled at his last sentence as a small wind started to blow, making the girl shiver a bit.
"How are you able to wear just a shirt and sweatpants? You're going to freeze to death." Doyoung scoffed as he took his flannel off, placing it over Chaewon's back. "Put it on."
" I didn't pack enough for outwear when I was mad at Jaehyun." Chaewon slid her arms into the sleeves of Doyoung's flannel. "What about you? Aren't you going to get cold?"
"My sweatshirt can keep me warm unlike your thin t-shirt. I'll be fine." Doyoung teased her.
"Tsk tsk whatever floats in your boat Kim Doyoung." Chaewon pouted, snuggling closer to the guy as another wave of wind came by.
Doyoung's phone flashed seeing a certain message from someone and placing his phone back in his pocket.
"Chaewon are you hungry?" Doyoung asked the girl as she nodded. "Let's head to Moon Burgers."
"Oooh Taeil oppa's place! I can't wait to go!" Chaewon rubbed her stomach, being an excited little girl to eat. "I'm starving!"
-
Doyoung and Chaewon had arrived at Moon Burgers where Taeil gave them a table as usual. Just then, Doyoung got up from his seat, leaving Chaewon alone.
"I'll be right back. I need to ask Taeil a few things." Doyoung reassured Chaewon giving her a smile.
Doyoung walked to the front entrance, meeting up with a familiar guy.
"She's right there, I'll be sitting with Taeil over there." Doyoung pointed to another direction where Taeil was at.
"Thanks Doyoung." The guy patted his back as he walked to Chaewon's table and sat across from her.
Chaewon was scrolling through her phone until she noticed a figure of a person sitting across from her.
She was about to smile, excited to start a conversation with Doyoung, but her expression faded as the person who's sitting across from her was someone she wanted to avoid.
"What do you want, Jung Jaehyun?"
-
Info: Jung Taehyun and Jung Sowon are parents of Jaehyun and Chaewon (their mother was born as a Jung)
Their stepmother is Shim Minrae (she never changed her surname like most Asian families)
I'll be referring their stepmother as Mrs. Shim and their birth mother as Mrs. Jung or Sowon.
Hope this helps for future chapters
Happy New Years and here's a doubleeee
