After the crash in 1945 Lenora wakes up with Steve to find that they have slept for 70 years, Lenora has to find the courage to keep going each day without her Fiancé Bucky Barnes who she thinks had died but when she finds out he's alive after all...
I woke up to see Steve asleep in a chair next to me; I look around me and realize I'm in a hospital. How did I get here? The last thing I remember is stabbing a guy and now I'm waking. up, what happened to me?
"Steve" I weakly whisper. He instantly wakes up and grabs my hand. "Oh Lenora you're awake" He says sounding very relived.
"What's happened?" I question. "What is the last thing you remember?" He asks.
"Stabbing some guy on our mission," I say
"Lenora, after you stabbed him someone came up behind you and stabbed you," He explains. My eyes go wide. Ive never been stabbed before.
"How the hell did I get stabbed? I always make sure I'm careful, and was I on my own?" I ask, feeling very confused.
"Yes, we were all on our there were too many-"
"Wheres Bucky" I say cutting Steve off. Thas when his entire mood and posture changes, and I worry. Where the hell is Bucky.
"Steve, where is he? Is he hurt? What happened to him?" I say in a panic. Steve places his hand back on mine and makes me look at him. Now I was really worried for what he was going to say next.
"SHEILD have taken him," He says and I instantly become confused. Why would SHEILD do that?
"Why, why would they do that?" I say, shaking my head and closing my eyes.
"During the fight, Bucky became the winter soldier again. "He explains and I instantly start crying. This is all my fault.
"I told him, I told you, Steve, that he wasn't ready. I knew this would happen. I should have done more," I cry. Why didn't I do more? I tried so hard to make Bucky stay away from this mission. I knew he wasn't ready. And now look what has happened, all because of me.
"Lenora, please don't cry. We weren't to know this would happen," he says as he rubs his hand on my arm to comfort me.
"I need to see him," I say as I throw the blanket off my legs.
"No Lenora, you need to stay in bed and recover," he says as he try to push me down onto the bed. I push his arms out of the way and stand, but I instantly sit back down when I get a shooting pain all down my back.
"Lenora, see you're not fit enough to even stand," He says as he goes on his knees in front of me. I look up at him and huff, If I can't walk, then I will find another way.
"Your right. i'm sorry for arguing with you. Can you help me back in bed please" I say. He nods and begins helping me back into bed. I get as comfy as possible before asking him a question.
"Steve, as you're standing, can you get me a snack please?" I ask, and he laughs.
"What? so you can just leave when I'm gone, no chance"
"Steve, you just saw what happen when I stood up, so who am I going to leave?" I say.
"Fine, but I'm getting the nurse in here to watch you," He says pointing a finger in my face. I just nod in response. I watch as he shouts in a nurse. He tells her to stay with me till he gets back and then leaves the room. After about 30 seconds, I call the nurse over to me.
"Could you get me that wheelchair there, please? I want to get out of bed," I smile.
"Of course. She smiles. I watch as she gets the wheelchair and wheels it over to my bed. She helps me into it.
"Could you get me that water please" I ask. She nods and turns her back to get my water. As quick as I could, I grabbed the bag that had all my clothes and stuff I had on me when I was stabbed and began making my way out of the room I could see Steve making his way back but luckily he had his head in his phone so he didn't see me, I went in the opposite direction and made my way to the lifts. One instantly opened, and I made my way inside. Thankfully, nobody was in here, so I started getting dressed into my normal clothes.
I slipped on my shoes when the elevator opened; I put the hospital gown in the bag and slipped it carefully behind me. I started wheeled myself out of the building and pulled out my phone. I instantly saw a text from Steve. I ignored it and called Wanda. She instantly picked up .
"Lenora, are you okay? We hear what happened," she said, her voice full of worry and concern.
"Yes, I just need you to pick me up like right now," I say as I look around, making sure Steve isn't here.
"Okay, are you still at the hospital?"
"Yes" I blurt. She tells me she will be here soon and I thank her. I put my phone In my jacket pocket and make my way behind a wall so I'm hidden from the entrance.
I wait for only five minutes when Wanda pulls up; she comes running over with her hand on her mouth.
"Oh my god Lenora, are you paralysed?" she says.
"What no" I laugh. She really was stupid sometimes. I tell her what happened, and she helps me up. We limp over to the car. She puts me in the passenger seat and she hops in the driver's seat.
