Despite truly being high up there on Taehyung's list of favorite persons, Jimin– or any of his hyungs in the States– has never actually met his twin brother, Vantae (though it certainly hasn't been for a lack of want).
His best friend always claims that he just wants to tell V how much he admires him in person, (his brother being a photographer and model who's also currently training to be an idol and all) but he's not too convinced with the way that he's seen Jimin openly flirt with his twin the few times that he's joined Taehyung to talk to him on FaceTime.
He shudders to think about what it'll be like when Vantae is really here.
... when Vantae is really here.
Taehyung still can't believe that his brother's actually coming to stay with him after all this time.
The competitive side of him is a bit annoyed at the fact that V, who's always crazy busy with photoshoots and rigorous idol training, is beating him to a visit, but Taehyung knows that if he wasn't a broke college student, he'd probably be back home every chance that he got, so ha.
Deciding whether or not to go to school in America had been one of the hardest decisions that he'd ever had to make in his entire life, especially since doing so meant that he'd be leaving his other half behind in Korea.
The two of them had never been apart for more than a few hours, a day or two, at most, and suddenly, they'd be on opposite sides of the world for who knows how long.
That thought alone was enough to make Taehyung almost not go, but V, his ever supportive hyungie, wouldn't let him throw the opportunity away, even if that meant them not being able to annoy each other every second of the day like they were wont to.
"Come on, Taehyungie. It won't be so bad. You know that I'll call you all the time."
"Promise, Van-ah?"
"So much so that you'll wish that you left your phone in Daegu so that I couldn't, Bear."
With Taehyung busy in L.A. studying art (and constantly working to improve his English), and Vantae moving to Seoul to pursue the career that he's always dreamed of though, that promise didn't exactly work out the way that they'd hoped, but they're still as close as ever, despite the distance and time.
And Taehyung will always be grateful to his twin for not letting him stay in Korea, even if he knows that a small part of V might have wanted him to, deep down.
If he had, Taehyung probably wouldn't have ever met his platonic soulmate and the best hyungs that he could ever ask for, and really, where would he be without them?
