Of course Daniel's parents decided on the perfect timing to visit their sons. You couldn't be mad, they don't see him often and his priorities had been a little bit upset with your comeback in his life. They didn't know anything about the two of you. THey barely understand what happened back in the day when Daniel elft for Italia. You weren't actually pretty sure nobody knew you were staying at Daniel's for a week. You completely disappeared from the Earth 's surface and it didn't even come to your mind that your friends and colleagues with whom you added a drink that night might wonder if you are still alive. Knowing them they will make tons of assumptions about you leaving the country and stuff, they must have known you were alive because you were still working, but you didn't really check your phone except for important phone calls. You had tons of unread messages when you checked your phone earlier but you were too distracted by someone else to mind it.

Daniel helped you get out of the water, handing you a towel and wrapped you in it, a little tight to your own preference like he was trying to hide your body for the upcoming visitor that will pass the little porch leading to his garden.

" Oh my Daniel, I didn't know you had company, and what a pleasant one. It so nice to see you sweety I knew that what happened you two wouldn't get in the way of your "friendship " "

Grace made sure to accentuate the word friendship, making gestures with her fingers.

" Mom please, "

" Oh Come on Daniel, your mother is just happy to see the two best friends reunited. "

Joe wasn't the type to talk very much, but when it was to tell off his son about the way he is talking to his mother he would jump on the front row right away. You find it cute, you always admire their relationship. Such a strong and loving couple that doesn't seem to have a change in their feelings despite the years flying, unlike your parents that didn't even fight for it, not even a bit.

The sudden realisation of your outfit with the proximity of his parents made you uncomfortable and you thanked Daniel internally for thinking quickly and wrapping you like a burrito in the biggest towel he had found.

You excuse yourself to go and change, taking your phone by the same occasion. It was time to send messages to your friends and reassure them.

There were more obviously and you decided to send a group message because it would take you too long to respond to everyone individually.

You know it was a vague answer and that your friends will come up with more questions and messages than before, but right now Daniel's parents were more of a priority than them.You quickly put on a summer dress over your bikini and head back to where everyone was.

As you step out you hear the conversation between Daniel and his parents.
