You couldn't move, you were still behind the front door, the tears finally leaving your eyes, crashing one after another on your dress. You didn't hear Daniel's car leaving, but you were assuming he had left. All the emotions you had pushed away tonight, trying your best to hide that seeing his face didn't do anything to your heart. Putting a facade all night to act like a normal person in front of his parents, no matter how embarrassing and awkward the situation was. You didn't know if you were regretting the whole experience, what you were regretting the most was not being honest there.

How could you have been though ? Showing how broken you were, how different you were now from the young girl they knew. Erasing every good memory and destroying every respect they had for you, just so you could feel you ? Would you have felt better ? Or hurting people would have destroyed you a bit more.

You were now sitting behind that door, crying your heart out, to try and erase the not new sensation of missing him. Because it was back, this pain, his absence ... What you felt after he left, you thought it had toned down to be replaced by nostalgia. The scar is still vividly living in your body, but seeing him tonight and now having to say goodbye again. Everything was opened again, the scar didn't heal and you seem to haven't learned your lesson. Daniel seems to be the only one that could hurt you and make you bleed your heart right deep in the open.

No matter how you were trying to forget him, you couldn't deny it. Tonight your two souls reconnect and for a second you wanted to forget everything. The way nothing changes on the outside, your mind is still getting each other, but in the same way that everything changes because now you had all these scars, ugly and painful that he had left on your heart and brain.

It took all the rest of your energy to finally stand up and go to your apartment. A strange sensation enters your body as you step inside your room. You needed to check something and it was almost running toward your window when you opened your curtain.

He was still here ...

His car was still parked in front of your building. The engine was stopped and you were freezing right in place. Not the first time you had done that in the evening, he had this effect on you. That's where you sense your phone vibrating in your bag. You know it was him and you didn't want to pick up.

You let the phone ring, still looking at his silhouette reflecting thanks to the street light through the windshield. Your phone stopped ringing for a minute before the vibration started again. You were dying of curiosity to know what he had to say. Your eyes were now dry, you had no more tears to release anyway.

That little flame was suffering inside your heart, but she was surviving, holding on to something you didn't want to mention again. No matter how much you wanted to resist it, the other side of the battle was stronger and for you to feel a little at ease and safe tonight, you had to give the white flag and lose this battle against yourself.

So you pick up the phone, waiting ...

He was clearly surprised that you had picked up and moved in his car to see if you were still at the window, of course he knew you were there, he must have had the same strange feeling that the other one was there.

"What do you mean, no ... I refuse to leave if it's the last time I'm seeing you"

"Go home Daniel"

"No ..."

"Please leave ..."

He didn't respond and a long silence set itself between you two, impossible to hang up. How pathetic, great representation of your relationship, you had to leave each other's life but you were still here incapable of letting the other go.
