Jordan POV
If he did not win the money from the step show, he was starting an Only Fans page. He was a nice-looking guy with a nice body, what was wrong making money with that?
Now that Manny was in on it too, every day they could, they rehearsed. Manny had the singing down, he was a natural. He was a natural dancer as well, but their working together was something else. He was trying to get Manny to loosen up and do some of the moves with him so they looked like a group.
That was going to be hard work.
"You two work well together. Y'all got all this down," Taj said to them while they were in set at the Epsilon Upsilon house. They stood in front of the Big Brothers who mostly sat while they stood the whole evening.
He was enjoying himself on line now, as much as he could anyway. It was quite an experience. Besides learning so much about the fraternity, he learned a lot about himself. Though school was tough, he learned to focus and study better. He learned to use his roommate and line brother for things he did not know.
Most importantly, he was learning brotherhood. Taj truly had his back.
"Thank you, Big Brother Black Magic, sir!" they both said in unison.
"They're alright," Brian said, on his phone instead of focusing on them.
Brian had been out of it for the last few days, maybe that was why they were taking it easy on them. Brian liked to yell the most, even though he was the Dean of Pledges and was supposed to take care of them. Manny told him Brian didn't give him pep talks like Taj gave him. Without Taj on his side, he didn't know if he would have made it this far.
"We're going to have a lot of the brothers coming down in a few weeks for Homecoming, we need the two of you ready. And by ready I mean, answer any questions they ask. Know your history. Know their names and faces."
That...was a lot of names and faces. He frowned, and he was sure Taj caught that look on his face.
"They are not to pledge you, but they can talk to you and get to know you. Be available as well. Any plans? Cancel them. The bruhs are going to tailgate barbecue before the game and go together. You two will be there."
"Uh...Big Brother Black Magic, sir...what about Friday evening?" he asked. They had yet to tell Taj or Brian they were going to perform in the Delta Talent Show.
"Friday night, get together here at the house. Why?"
He looked to Manny to say something, he was Captain of the line. He spoke for the line, he was supposed to be speaking up now for them. He gave Manny a nudge.
"Oh yeah, Big Brother Black Magic. Brother Jordan and I were thinking about uh...I mean, we're going to be in the talent show."
Taj gave them an unsure look. "The talent show. The Delta Talent Show? The big talent show everyone and their momma's show out for? The talent show all the Alum attend? All the Greeks come down, come to the talent show you know."
"Yes, Big Brother."
"Grand prize is one thousand dollars," Taj said.
"Actually," Jordan interjected. "It's uh, twelve hundred this year. First place."
Taj nodded and stepped in front of him. "I counted three uhs and you cut me off-"
"I didn't!"
Taj raised an eyebrow. "Again. And you didn't address me properly. So tonight..."
He did enough crunches and pushups his body was jello the rest of the night. The Big Brothers were impressed that they were going to be in the talent show, but they wanted them to be at their best because they were now representing Epsilon Upsilon, even if no one knew it yet. They had to run their performance through them and both guys liked what they had so far. Taj said Alumnae EU would appreciate it if they placed. Monetary awards for the top three.
Now the pressure was on.
Though he was sore, when he made it back to his room, Marketta and Laila were waiting on them standing in the hallway.
"You look horrible." Marketta put her arm around him and he felt a lot better. Something about this girl, he easily forgot about the rest. Marketta was that ride-or-die type of chick.
"I'm good." He unlocked their room door and they all walked in. The room was nice and clean for once. The Big Brothers stopped by their room and gave them a lesson on cleanliness and what it meant. Cluttered rooms meant cluttered minds, Brian told them. Boy Genius gave them a whole cleaning and organization system. Freak of nature that boy was.
She looked all over him, checking for something he was not sure about. "Did they hurt you?"
"Na, I'm good," he said and laid down on his bed.
"He's fine," Manny said, not phased by the extreme amount of exercise they had to do, plus he danced for them all night as well. His two feet were on fire. "Laila, let's hang out in your room so we can have some privacy."
"Sure," Laila said as they walked out.
He wondered if his homie was hitting that. Had to be, and he was not telling him. He spent nights over there just as Marketta spent nights with him. Never doing anything outside of a few kisses. He wanted to so bad, but like his Big Brother said, no sex.
Marketta kept rubbing his back. "You want me to get you anything?"
"Just you. He sat up and pulled her close to him. "Thanks for being here looking out for a brother. You got my back, babe."
"Yes, I sure do." She kissed him. "And when you have those letters on and all those other girls try and step to you, remember who held you down."
"Now you know the letters won't change me. Imma do me."
"Jordan, you're a nice looking guy, other girls want to get with you, I know that. There's something about being in a fraternity that makes girls real hoes over guys."
He chuckled at her. "So I can't just look at another girl?"
"I will snatch the eyeballs right out of your head."
He liked a girl that stood her ground. He was not a cheater, not ever in the past anyway. Yes, girls flirted with him all the time, but that didn't mean he was going to do anything with them. He loved the ladies' attention, but that was just for show.
"Marketta, we good girl, don't worry."
"Then why haven't you tried to have sex with me again?"
Whoa! He could not believe she was asking that. He moved away from her, because she was too close, and rubbed his face in frustration. What was he going to say? The truth was he wanted to have sex with her that first day up in her room, but she said no. He tried to do the gentleman thing and wait till she was ready. Marketta was hot, he wanted her in the worse way.
But now he couldn't.
"See umm..." How was he going to say as part of the pledge process he could not? He told her everything else about what was happening while he was on line. Somehow, he couldn't tell her about that. "Marky, I thought you wanted us to wait? So, I'm waiting."
"I know but, that was at first. Now...we've gotten to know each other." She rubbed her hand on his chest and that did some things to him.
He grabbed her hands and held them.
"Marky, we good, we don't need that right now. It's only been a couple of weeks. How about we wait a little longer."
"I want my first to be with you."
"I'm honored babe, and I want to make it special for you. No rush."
She rolled her eyes. "Okay, I guess."
"You're cute when you pout." He kissed her.
A/N: See the growth in Jordan? At least it is going in the right direction, unlike Manny.
