Jordan POV
"Hey Anika!" he greeted her as she stood in the Student Union with two of her line sisters.
"Is that the only one you see?" Daysha bellowed out to him.
"My bad," he said with a grin. "Hey Daysha, hey Malinda." He gave them both a sisterly hug as he greeted them. Then he pulled Anika to the side before he gave her an even bigger, playful hug. "What's up soror!"
"Boy, you don't get to call me that," she said with a giggle. "You're not in my sorority, you're my bruh, not my soror."
"I ain't calling you bruh!"
"Call me sis."
"A'ight. So what are y'all up to, what's going on? Been kicking it all week like me?"
"Hell yeah!" Daysha said, giving him a dap. "I didn't know how many people give you mad respect just because of some letters. Hell, I wish I did it my sophomore year so I could bask in it. A couple of months, my ass is out of here."
"Still have the rest of the year."
"No doubt."
He turned his attention to Anika, her skin popping, her hair down, and a crisp new MAX shirt on. The girl was hot, she had to know it. "Anika, where is your baby?"
"Home. You think I bring her to campus like that?"
"Well..."
"Home with her daddy."
Was that supposed to be a message to back off? He did not know where things stood between the two of them. All he knew was if he had a chance, it was on.
"I heard you have a girlfriend, why are you stressing 'bout my soror?" Daysha said, jumping into their conversation.
"Me? Not stressing."
"You have a girlfriend?" Anika asked.
"Yes." Not that he was trying to hide it. He was not going to do anything, he was just testing the waters with Anika. If she was down, maybe, just maybe...
"Lucky girl," Anika said with a smile at him.
He had to ponder, was losing Marketta because he was flirting worth it? He could easily snatch Anika up, see how far they could take it, then that was it. But one, she was his sister/soror now, they would have to work together on things. Two, she had a whole baby. Three, she was in some kind of complicated situationship he wanted no part of.
"I'm the lucky guy," he stated.
There, that was that. He still liked flirting with her, although he would not cross the line. They could be friends. A friend that he thought was pretty. He had done no wrong.
Unlike his roomie who was caught in the room with a chick giving him head.
All Manny had to say for that was don't tell Laila or Marketta. He wanted no part of that. But he wondered if Laila would be mad at him when it did come out and he did not tell. That was the trouble with him and his homie dating sisters.
He was busy getting his grind on, trying to build all his social media platforms and become an influencer. Right now it wasn't making any money, although he had a nice-sized following. After he posted his probate show on YouTube, his following count nearly doubled. It did better than the Talent Show. That meant they loved a good show.
He had to give them one.
"Hey Anika, you think of adding a guy to your dance group?"
She laughed at him, but he did not think it was funny.
