Brian POV

He did not have a good time over Thanksgiving break.

Soon as he got hot his father complained about him not calling home unless he needed money. Reality: he always needed money. He did not work, how was he supposed to buy things? And his father had plenty of money, it wasn't like they were poor.

Then his mother called and pretty much said the same things. He would have argued the point that it worked both ways. They could call him if they needed to check-in. Both of them had access to his grades, they knew he was still holding his 4.0. What else did he constantly need to check-in for? He was not a kid.

Then he tried splitting the holiday with his mother's family and father's family and they both got mad about "not spending enough time with them." They were divorced! Had been for years, it wasn't his fault they could not stick it out and be together thus he would only have one family dinner to attend.

And his older brother and he almost came to blows because he dissed his fraternity. That wasn't cool. He never said one bad thing about his fraternity of choice, but he could not give him the same respect. Blood didn't mean they had to be friends, and he and his brother never were.

And if that all was not enough, J'Nae was upset he did not call her until that Friday. He was too busy arguing between parents, what was he supposed to do. He tried going to see her Friday, but she was visiting family. What the hell? Complaining about nothing in his opinion.

He got to see her on Saturday and she was still in a foul mood. All he could do was stay calm and pretend he wasn't agitated over everything going on.

He wanted to sleep all day Sunday, but back to school by afternoon. There he slept for the rest of the day.

Pretty much all he did all week was sleep and classwork. Only a few weeks and then it was finals week. He needed to focus and not party. Even if that meant not hanging with his frat brothers.

The neos were feeling themselves, as they should, and wanted to be seen at every little party. Taj was so wrapped up in this new girl he was dating, that all he did was spend time with her.

And then there was Daysha.

Sex with her was the best he ever had. She was freaky deaky and did not mind trying a lot of things his young mind never knew about. Since they were getting super loud with the freaky shit, he went to her place because she lived alone. He never stayed the night though, he knew what it was, just bomb ass sex, nothing more.

At least he knew she knew how to keep her mouth shut.

He put in a lot of volunteer work, on the hotline. Hearing other people struggle helped him to know he was human. Making a difference in just one person's life, that was enough for him.

So he was happy when one of the callers called him back to0 give him an update.

"Yo Brian, I just want you to know, talking with you helped man. I thought I was going to lose everything. I didn't even want to live anymore."

It was the guy that cheated on his girlfriend, or better yet, his baby momma.

"Glad I can help. It's hard for us men, to stay monogamous, I know, but if you're with who you want to be with, then keep working on that. Talking and communicating."

He really should listen to his own advice. J'Nae was who he wanted, he just could not help himself. He sat in the living room, on his laptop doing research. Tablet was in use as well. His phone kept open since it was hours he took calls. No time to play on social media, he had to focus.
