Taj POV
It was nice having all his fraternity brothers at the house for Homecoming weekend. It was a time to get closer to his brothers and build their bonds. The two pledges taking second place in a tough competition had the Alumni hype. They were impressed with the two young guys, and they were lucky. The frat took it easy on them.
Normally the bruhs would come down and haze the pledges, at least they did with him, Brian they tried because he was solo, but Brian was not a punk.
The guys were treating Manny and Jordan like they already crossed.
"Yo, the way the ladies screamed at my fellas!" Akil said, one of the older brothers that always came down. Maybe thirty-five now, but acted younger than the twenty-year-olds. Married, two kids, came down to party with them and pulled a Brian.
"Yeah, and lil Jordan needs to teach me those moves," Brian said, mocking some of the dancing, except he had no moves. Brian needed to stick to science.
The bruhs laughed more than needed, most of them pissy drunk and they still had the after-party to go to. There was every kind of liquid courage you could name at the house tonight. The bruhs brought their own down plus he stocked up on what he knew they would like. Some were even passing around blunts. It was a full-on party at their house...and good thing the pledges were going to clean up the mess afterward.
"It wasn't me they were screaming for, they want Manny sounding like Chris Brown."
"Me?" Manny said with a grin. "I think I heard Jordan louder than my name. But yeah, we both did that!" Manny gave his line brother a pound.
It was great to see Manny loosening up and having a little edge to him, more than the little choir boy most knew him as. It was good to have Epsilon Upsilon out there, winning at the talent show, even though students didn't know in a few weeks they would be an EU. A few weeks, that's all they had left then they would be brothers for life.
"Pass them some drinks, they're looking thirsty over there," someone shouted out.
"Yo!" he interfered with them, "Chill, they both are underage."
"So?" Brian stated, handing them beers. "I got lifted I ain't twenty-one yet. My young ass was younger than them last year while I was on line."
"That's right B-dog, you twenty-one yet?" Akil asked.
"Just turned twenty!" he yelled out. "Not a young boy anymore."
"Damn, you're a baby!" Akil grabbed him in a headlock. "Still wet behind the ears."
Jordan did not hesitate to go in on his beer while Manny only held his. The guy was uncomfortable taking his first drink of liquor and he did not want the fraternity to be blamed for pressuring him. He grabbed the bottle from him and drank it himself.
"Next time kid, when you're ready."
He nodded, as no one was paying attention to him now. They moved on to discuss all the "freaks" they were going to catch tonight.
Typically old heads hooked up with other Alumni that came down, or worse, they caught young, dumb girls. It was always a madhouse with the women in the house after the party. He knew his bedroom would not be his bedroom tonight. He was not down with all of that, he only had eyes for one person.
Faye had not attended the talent show and he texted her to ask what she was doing mommy duty.
But it's homecoming. There's a party tonight
Do I look like I have time for that?
After their kiss in the office, they snuck plenty more kisses when they could, but only texted back and forth. Nothing else. He wanted more. He wanted to take her on a date, hang out with her at his place, and walk around the yard holding her hand. He wanted her to be his girl.
