Brian POV

He partied so much over Homecoming weekend all he wanted to do the rest of the week was sleep. He was being a good boy, no more girls. His focus was only on his schoolwork and his fraternity. Also, doing the work of the hotline.

As tired as he was from the weekend, others were getting burned out on school and there was an uptick with the calls. These kids were not just a little stressed out from college, they were in full depression mode.

"Soooo...you won't tell my business all over the school?"

"No, how can I? You don't use your name I won't use mine."

"What if you recognize my voice?"

"I'm good, but I'm not that good. So tell me what's up? You doing okay?"

"I just had a threesome after the homecoming dance with two guys I don't know.

Damn! He missed out on the action last weekend. Although, the only threesome he was interested in was him and two girls. That was only his first call. There were many calls with people having hookups with strangers and he didn't see anything wrong with that. It was just sex. It was only taboo if others knew what you were doing. Everyone was having sex, so long as it was consensual it was not a reason to be depressed.

"Here is what you do. Go get tested, run the slew of STD and STI tests, and wait for all results before you engage in sex with someone else. Always use protection if you don't know that person and that they are okay. And the morning-after pill if you are not on birth control. Don't let anyone think you did something wrong."

This is what he told all the callers, all being females, because of course none of the guys cared they had one-night stands. Then he did get a call from a guy that had him rethink life.

"Man, I fucked up."

"What happened? It's okay, talk to me."

"My girlfriend, I fucked things up."

"Hey, everybody was getting lit last weekend. If you had a one-night stand with a girl, just man up and confess that. Believe me, I understand."

"It wasn't last weekend."

"Oh, okay, tell me. Whatever you say to me will not get out there to anyone else."

"I love my girlfriend. She's perfect for me. We've always been so happy and everything was great with us. I transferred schools so that I can be here with her. I just wanted everything to work out so we could be a family."

"Okay."

"But...I should have known it was too good to be true. Now it might be over and I just want to kill myself." The guy broke down in tears.

Whoa! Suicidal on the line. He had a few calls like this, and though he was not qualified for this, he was going to try his best for now and refer him to the proper people to call.

"Your life means so much more than a random hookup. Explain to your girl that it was a mistake, how you feel about her, that it will never happen again, and work through it. Sweet talk her, beg, buy her gifts, do whatever you need to do to make it right."

"She's not that type of girl that will fall for that. If I can't be with her man....and my daughter....I'll just..."

"Whoa! You guys have a kid? That changes everything."

"How?"

"What do you mean how? You have a responsibility now, a whole life to take care of. Doing something where you are not there for your daughter is a little drastic." This was getting to be too much for him and he did not want to say the wrong thing. "Let me give you some numbers to call. Talk with them, but if you need to call me back man, you can talk to me anytime. And my name is Brian, you deserve to know who I am."
