The room the king has moved Tiana to is much larger than the one she was previously in. The room is bright due to the ivory-colored walls decorated with light gold designs that blend into the walls. She's been so used to being kept in a dark room that she needs to squint her eyes to keep from straining them.
There are two sliding doors on the left that are framed with light wood. The doors are covered with ivory patterns of squares that match the walls. In the right corner of the room lays a rolled pink cot.
Tiana sits in the corner of the room and stares at the entrance of it. There's no way of her escaping since her room is in the king's large bed-chamber.
Tiana listens to the sound around her. She can hear the palace's soldiers training. They yell in synch as their commander counts from one. She can hear the maids muttering greetings to the entitled noblemen that walk around the palace and the sounds of whimpering coming from her right side. She crawls over to the sliding doors and presses her ear onto them.
Yep, that's for sure whimpering she hears.
Tiana's eyebrows furrow as she hears things come crashing down.
She knows somebody came to visit king Yoongi but she's not sure who. She thinks it was probably the princess and she is convinced that it's her crying to persuade the king into doing something for her. She seems like a suck-up. Tiana saw the way the princess looked up at the king as if begging for approval after each time she slashed Ae-Ri's back.
The doors soon slide open and Tiana scrambles to her feet, not wanting to look like she was eavesdropping. Namjoon's slender eyes look down at her as he holds the door open. Tiana peers behind him and sees that there is nobody else in the bed-chamber. However, the king could be hiding somewhere deep in his chamber since it can house an entire village.
Namjoon steps forward and slides the doors closed behind him.
He gestures for Tiana to sit down as he leans against the ivory wall.
"I have something you need to do," Namjoon says.
Tiana raises an eyebrow at him before crossing her arms over her chest.
"I'm not in the mood to be taking any more orders from anyone, especially after what just went down in the palace," she says.
Namjoon's facial expression doesn't change.
"It won't take you much energy to do," he responds. "I just want you to stop talking back to the king."
Tiana gives Namjoon a look of disbelief.
"I know you have just awakened your confidence and all, but please...," Namjoon continues as his face softens. "...stop testing the king. I don't want him to have any added stress."
Tiana scoffs before her brown plump lips form a smile.
"I don't care how stressed the king may be. If he is so stressed, why doesn't he let me go, hm? That would take an entire boulder off that man's shoulders," Tiana replies.
Namjoon sighs.
He knows Tiana has a point, but witnessing the king express emotions other than anger in the last 12 years has made Namjoon realize how much king Yoongi has been suffering. He hides his deepest emotions with anger in order to forget about his haunting past. The king wasn't always an evil bloodthirsty tyrant. He use to smile, laugh and make jokes, and help those in need. Namjoon remembers this Yoongi before the passing of his mother.
Namjoon gets up from against the wall. He tosses Tiana a cloth that is tied at the top. Before she can open it, Namjoon leaves the room.
She unties the cloth and opens it to find brown round treats with little flowers on them.
