Unforeseen

3: The Departure

Agust enters the main room to find his door on the ground with the King standing on top of it. He tries to keep his anger at bay as he walks towards the King and his men. 

"Agust D," the King says as he walks further into the room. "It's nice to see you again."

The King gives Agust D a crazy smile before sitting on the stool that Tiana was sitting in.

"One of your weird inventions was found in a couple of trees in the forest. I need you to remove it before I have you flogged for every minute you don't take it down," the King says with a smile on his face.

"You break down my door to tell me this?" Agust says before scoffing.

This isn't the first time the King has done this. Every time he repairs his door, the King comes back to break it right back down. He plans on making hinges that'll make it impossible for the door to be broken down. Agust is tired of his safe space being destroyed by him.

"Well yes, brother," he says with venom in his voice. "I like to make quite an entrance."

The King begins to throw his head back and cackle.

Agust watches his brother carefully to make sure he doesn't do anything unexpected. When the King calms down he tilts his head to the side and looks up at Agust.

"I'll clean it up. You may leave now," Agust says.

"uh uh uuuuhhhhhh," the King says. "I have one more question for you."

"Who's the girl?" The King asks.

"What girl?" He asks.

"I was told by one of the princess's guards that they saw a girl with extremely dark skin who was wearing clothes like you in the forest," the King says with a serious look on his face.

Agust starts laughing at his brother's claims. He knows that his brother is not stupid and knows that he knows about this girl.

"Have you ever seen someone with dark skin before, Yoongi?" Agust asks.

The King leans his head back and looks up at the wooden ceiling of Yoongi's home. 

"No, I never have," the King says. "But I want to."

The King returns his gaze to Agust D with a serious look on his face. His eyes bore into Agust's, daring him to lie to him.

"Bring her to me," the King says.

Agust doesn't say anything because he knows if he says no or lies to him, the King will have his head and Agust cannot die until he fulfills his plan.

"Search this entire house and bring me that girl," the King demands.

It's been a while since Agust has felt nervous or scared. The last time he felt those emotions was when he last saw his mother. He doesn't understand why he's feeling these emotions towards Tiana, especially since Agust knows that his brother will not kill Tiana. He will most likely make her his concubine, but that doesn't sit well with him.

In the other room, Tiana hears the conversation clearly. Her heart rams against her chest when she hears the King's last sentence. She scrambles to her feet and tries to stand up but she falls down. Tiana hears the door open and she begins to whimper. She doesn't want to die and she's afraid that the King will kill her for being different from everyone else or worse, send her to America to be a slave.

"Found her, King Yoongi," a familiar voice says.

Tiana turns around and sees the face she wanted to see so badly since she has crashed into the past. The difference is that this man is starring down at Tiana with a blank stare and does not smile at her as he does in her world.
