It's been two weeks since King Yoongi has tried to chop Tiana's head off and he has allowed her to have six baths in total, three per week. She's gonna ask him if she can have more baths this week because she woke up with her stomach cramping. Tiana is positive that her cycle is coming soon and it's late because of the lack of food and water she's been consuming. Due to all the drama that has been happening since she's arrived in the Joseon Dynasty, she had forgotten about her monthly visits.
Tiana is curled up in a ball in the corner of the room while clenching her stomach. Her eyes are closed shut as she grits her teeth to keep herself from screaming or yelling. The sun isn't up yet and she is not in the mood to find out how the king would react if she were to wake him up.
The longer Tiana lays down and waits for the sun to come up, the more anxiety she feels about getting her cycle. They don't have Advil, so how is she going to subside the stomach pain? They don't have pads or tampons at this time, so what will she wear?
She can't take it anymore and forces herself to stand up. She bends over while holding her stomach as she walks over to the entrance of her room. Tiana slides the door open and is met with darkness. She steps out of the room and looks towards where she thinks the king's bed is. Tiana stands still for a minute and listens for any noise that may come from that side of the bed-chamber. When she doesn't hear any indication of movement, she continues her journey to the door that will lead her out of the king's bed-chamber.
Tiana holds her breath as she gets closer to the door. She clasps her hand over the cold metal latch of the door handle and gets ready to pull it open. As she pulls at it, it doesn't budge.
Tiana internally groans at the thought of the king locking the door to keep her from escaping.
"This is the Joseon Dynasty, so I don't think the door is locked in a complicated way," Tiana thinks. "There must be a latch somewhere that is keeping me from opening the door."
Tiana feels around the area where the doors meet each other to see if she can find a latch.
She feels a sharp pain in her abdomen and hitches her breath. Her arms come to hold her stomach as she tries to bear with the pain. She can no longer stand and gets ready to sit down.
"Why are you out of your room?"
Tiana stops herself from sitting and scans the room.
His voice seems to engulf the room. She is sure that the voice came from further in the bed-chamber, but she doesn't know where he may be.
She doesn't answer.
Maybe if she stands still and keeps her head down, he won't see her. It's pitch black in his bed-chamber and she's positive he can't make out her dark features in the darkness.
"Tiana~," his voice says sounding gruff.
His voice sounds closer to her than before.
Nicki Minaj's voice fills her mind when she thinks, "Oh no we gotta go."
